I will be the first to admit I get frusterated with Christian attitudes with us. BUT I have noticed more and more, at least here, Christians have defended us in the nicest way. I was wondering how many of you actually respect us?

Lady: I didnt realize we had ever been burned at the stake. In reality...most of them were Christian. The witches were smart enough to shut up and stay out of sight.

While I was still in a Christian cult, I began to meet pagans incidentally. I didn't know them as pagans at first. I knew them as business associates, professionals and friends. Gradually, I was exposed to some of their beliefs and practices. Simple rituals to affirm their connection to life, the planet, the universe and humanity. Statements of peace reflecting the intention to "harm none."
I had to respect them. They have all the values for which I had become a Christian. And they continue to actively display them. They are ethical and spiritual people.
Christians who regard them should consider the words of Paul who noted that there are those who worship "unknown gods" and who do "by nature" even things that the Jews had been instructed by law.
Respect and appreciate the ethics and principles of Pagans.

i think Christinas respect the pagans as people of God..but they don't respect their God..that is why you have this feeling...actually the God of pagans don't exist for the real Christians...when you say Koran..is like you say..a magazine or so...to me which am a Christian.
My daughter is going to the scool of a turk...because it is a private school..and i liked the women fro there..they had beautiful clothes..and were wearing jewlery but i didn't repect them ..for their lack of morality, islam being a world where a woman can accept to be the wife of a man who has other 1-3 wives..And here at christians sleeping with more then a woman which acording to the bible must be a man's wife not girlfriend...means being lewd and sinner...and doing satan's will and having a satanic passion..

I know and respect many Pagans.
But I don't respect people like that first guy, who actually thinks that Christians might just up and kill 40 million Pagans for no reason. Or that girl below who actually thinks that real Pagans were burned at the stake.

I have, to my knowledge, never met in person a pagan. I think everyone should be treated the way they want to be treated. Whether beliefs are matched or not! Not everyone will like, and get along. But, that's the way of life!

Since most of us who are not newbies don't advertise our religion (whatever Pagan religion we practice) , I imagine that a whole lot of Christians know a whole lot more Pagans than they realize.
And I imagine that many of those Pagans behave in ways that Christians respect.
The interesting thing would be to ascertain if that respect was still accorded to those Pagans *if* their Paganism was known, without any other variable in play.

I am a Christan, and last year, I had a Pagan friend. As long as we weren't talking about religon, I felt like him and I were not different. And yes, I certainly do respect him.

I'm pagan and I get along very well with my Christian neighbor. When I just moved in and she discovered who I was she was very prejudiced and stand offish with me and my family.
I think she expected we would be slaughtering animals and doing blood sacrifices and calling down hexes on people. It was good dispelling all those misconceptions.
Now we are good pals.

Well I haven't met many Pagans in real life, at least not that I'm aware of. For all I know, I've probably met quite a few. Anyway, on R&S I pretty much respect people as individuals rather than groups, and overall I've respected most individual Pagans I've run into here, and really enjoy their questions and answers. You and Riegan are undoubtedly two of my favorite people here!
