God said here's a cool tree, but don't touch it. Then He sent a serpent to further the temptation.

Would this really hold up in court?

NO.

Fictional characters are NOT allowed in Court!

It shouldn't hold up in court. Imagine a parent putting poisoned fruit in reach of their child, telling them not to eat it and allowing them to be tempted to eat it by a talking stuffed animal.

This is not sound parenting and would probably be considered child abuse, at best.

Sure, it was a necessary part of the plot. Think how boring mankind have been otherwise -

Adam and Eve lived happily ever after. The End.

Wouldn't make for very good mythology, would it? ;-)

It is God's plan to change man from an evil heart. Would the man's nature have been different had he not been tempted?
NO our nature is to sin. It is the nature that is changed through the atonement rather than the law.

Dateline gets away with setting up pedos all the time. I'm sure god is even more capable of getting away with it.
