You can try but it's doubtful that you will win. Undoubtedly the your original contract addresses interest rates and cost of collection.

If you can come up with a lump sum, try negotiating a settlement. You may be able to settle for 50% to 75%. But be sure to get any settlement offer in writing and do not give them access to your bank account.

you can take anyone to court over anything if you can find a lawyer to help you. but the outcome might not go your way. Based on the fact that a collection agency is having to deal with you tells me that the court might not rule in your favor because had you paid your bill the proper way the collection agency would not be involved.

How much intrest have they added to your original account balance... you can always call & talk to them asking them to give a settlement... get it in writting from them... but no you can't take them to court they are in their right since the account is in their hands they have you in their hands it depends in what state that you are in it actually be the other way around they can take you to court or even garnish your wages... hope this help hun.. Unfourtonately going thru these lists I do not find anything that says you can sue them for high interest rates.
