This happens on most new and used cars, the dealer will file the paperwork with the state and you will recieve the title in the mail. Then once you have recieved the title you go to purchase your tag. I would go by the dearler, with your bill of sale for the car, and any other informaton given to you by the dealer when you purchased the car. Then ask the dealer if the title has been sent off. When the check there records and realize that the titles either has been sent off or hasn't, they should be able to issue you a second temp plate. I would then make sure they get the title paperwork sent. I would call them a few days later just to make sure.

Good luck.

I have not heard of this being a dealership responsibility. Their job is to send you the title if you paid cash, or the lienholder sends you a copy of the title so you can register the car. It sometimes takes more than 30 days. Check with the dealership about the status of the title.

What happens? You find out the vehicle you bought is a stolen vehicle and you my friend have been bent over.WHAT to do?....If you're cool with the law,Call your State Police,if not have some "friends"visit the dealer and find out why!Sometimes paper work takes time to catch up,especially after a holiday and always SLOW at the DMV.Good Luck!

This may have been your responsibility depending on where you live and the agreement with the dealership.
