Our forefathers put in God we trust on our money.
I think we should respect our fellow Americans then and now. America was established on Judea-Christian beliefs. The Commandments is where we get most of our laws. I am a Christian but I do respect the atheist view on this. Although I don't feel that it should be changed because it is part of our roots. I also do not feel that it could be offensive, because in all it was just a statement from our forefathers, it doesn't mean in any way that you as an individual share the same beliefs. I like your question too.

I'm a believer. I find no problem using God's name with money. As long you use money to serve God's purpose, not for your own selfish financial gains. Money can be used for the Lord's purposes such as missions & evangelism. Money itself is not the root of evil. The love of money is the root of evil. You can be broke but love money all the time, devoting yourself to work instead of spending a few hours at the church. Money is like fire. A good servant but a bad master. I believe God wants his believers to be masters of money & to be His servants. Not the other way round.

I don't mind it, as the reason it was put on is a part of our history. It wouldn't be a major think that I would work to change as it's fairly meaningless and removing it would only be a symbolic victory not a real one.
I would rather see everyone working toward ensuring that our laws reflect what is fair to all citizens not just a given group's morality.

The Word GOD is not the Creators Name! it is A Discriptive
word used for the one who has many names by man yet he has not yet told us what his real true name is! The word GOD

It could say in Santa Clause I trust for all I care as long as its legal tender it doesn't state anywhere what I do or do not believe. If it bothers you consider the bartering system.

I'm not religious.
I think that putting "god" on the money is treading dangerously close to violating the establishment clause (*if* it doesn't actually violate it--I rather think it does, but arguments can be made both ways). I also think that we have much larger issues in our nation right now--the war, the Patriot Act, our dreadful need for education reform and health-care reform, etc--than a redesign of our money.

America has been predominantly Christian and it was the Christian God people had in mind when they decided to put 'God' there.
Is that the reason why America is the envy of the world?
Something to think about.

Does anyone even know god's name? Are you implying the name "Jesus" or "Allah" or "Vishnu" should be printed on money. What does god have to do with our money in the first place? Money is nothing more than a symbol for work. Why should that have any religious connotations associated with it?

Only a Christian country would put God's name on their money. I am Christian and an American. Leave the design of the money alone and keep God's name on it.
