Not only that, but he created the being that tempted the first humans to commit that first sin.
God, being omniscient, would have had to known that it would happen.
Ultimately, God is responsible for sin.

No, God did not. Man was created with free will to make a choice, after they were told, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat..." Satan came along and became the temptation, and rather than listening to God, who had their best interest, they listened to the serpent, Satan. When Satan approached Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit, that was the temptation layed out for both Adam and Eve. Have you ever been approached by someone, a friend, or an acquaintance that tried to talk you into doing something that you knew was either illegal, or wrong? At that moment that person is subjecting you to temptation. Do you blame God and say He is tempting you? No, the person trying to get you to do wrong is the doing the tempting. What you do after that is your decision, your free will. So at that moment, you either to do wrong, or right. Adam and Eve chose not to listen to what God forewarned them of. So Eve did not listen, and did 'touch' or in the hebrew word, naga, to "physically touch." In other words she 'lay' with Satan, then Eve offered the same fruit,(Satan) to Adam. No wonder God was sad he created man.

I've always wondered about this, and Judas. These things were part of a plan devised by god, which depended on those involved playing certain parts, otherwise the plan could not come together. Certainly the people involved gave in to their base instincts, but after all ... where did those base instincts come from? The creator made us in his own image, it is said.
This is one of those circular arguments that I find very dissatisfactory in religious discussion, as the aim of the believer seems always to exonerate the creator from blame, and attribute good motives to him, yet show him behaving in a negative way.
Yet if I manipulated others into behaving in a certain way, taking into account their human failings etc, I would be considered a bad , maybe even evil, person.
Go figure.
Cheers :-)

God didn't tempt Adam and Eve. He did set up a situation where they had to choose one command or the other because they could not obey both. They could not reproduce until they had knowledge and became mortal. God knew that they eventually would partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. However, it was up to them to choose and Satan played a part by enticing them to do so. He did not know that he was fulfilling God's plan. After they partook of the forbidden fruit, then they became mortal, subject to death, and were able to multiply and replenish as commanded. There was no punishment for disobedience of the reproduction commandment because God knew that eventually they would obey that one.
You could say that they were set up, but the key element was that they had to choose for themselves to eat or not. The exercise of their agency was the beginning of knowledge.

It depends on your point of view. Would you give a new born infant steak to eat? You have to gradually increase solid food and the infant has to develop it's bodily systems before it is able to eat that and digest it. You have to gain basic knowledge before you are ready for the deep stuff. Too much of anything too soon more often than not results in disaster.

Do not touch the tree means do not touch the tree, lest ye die, means lest ye die, they did die, we die Gen.3:1-5; Satan said they would not die.
Gen.3:19;
God said, dust to dust.
If the battery is charged, the thing needing the power of the battery works.
Adam disconnected himself and all those after him from the power source for life.
Jesus brings it back again for the offsprings of Adam in the time frame allowed.
