The reason we Christians have higher crime rates, divorce rates, etc. Is that Satan has no need to tempt atheists. He knows that they will burn in hell anyways.

If anything this is proof Satan exists and therefore that Christianity is true.

Where you have powerful churches you've got poorer people. In old Europe, the Catholic Church had all the power, and the people were in rags; but the church had millions. Same thing here. It's about political control. There's nothing spiritual about it. You got to keep those poor ones under control, don't you know! The south has an old European Monarchical way of thinking. They don't like freedoms and rights too much. They'll argue with you about it, but that's really they're secret. It's pretty easy to figure out. European peasants went to the south, and they never got any better in the free world. They still remained ignorant and provincial.

Jesus died to save all of mankind

but....mankind still has to learn to live in this world until Jesus makes his Kingdom on Earth

so

Christians have the same dilemmas as secular people to deal with, just with the hope of salvation after death (the only guaranteed thing)

in my opinion, from study and observation of other people, the difference between a Christian living in the ungodly world and a Buddhist or Muslim or Jewish person, is that they have laws that govern everyday life...

because we Christians don't need to follow certain everyday rules and practices in order to be saved it is sometimes hard to make day to day, minute to minute decisions about what to do

particularly when faced with temptation

i mean like when it comes to things like lust and loneliness, there isn't much to be said Biblically, if you take the Bible at face value, other than don't lust and don't worry about loneliness because when you die you will be with the Lord forever

but lust and loneliness (for example) are still there

so a man (who happens to be in the Bible Belt) may get a hooker or a woman (in the same area) may go to a club and hook up with a man who doesn't care about her and she has no connection to

BUT

when a Christian learns the Bible beyond "just don't do it", and what great spiritual power the Word has, and how to use it to live day to day, then it helps

this is what i love so much about the ministries of Joyce Meyer and T D Jakes....

now I know what people think sometimes about them, especially Mr. Jakes, but they address Biblically what people face daily

good spiritual leaders and/or Bible teachers make the Word more than a collection of stories of the miracles of God and what good is available in the afterlife

now what does this have to do with what you are asking?

well, I think in the Bible Belt (where I live this mentality is there too) there is more emphasis on the old fashioned "be good" "don't do anything" "just go to church" "believe and you will go to Heaven", than how to live in this world day by day with God

people (really people everywhere) just need help in learning how to live Godly lives in the face of all kinds of evil and temptation

The Bible Belt is now actually the Meth Belt. According to the American Heart Association the midwest and south also has the highest obesity rate in the USA and thanks to Texas the highest divorce rate as well.

It just goes to show that religion alone cannot solve social problems and no one religion has all the solutions either.

They have more... the weirdest and creepiest crimes are there... Andrea Yates, Dena Schlosser, The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. murders, the meth freaks, those people beheading their kids, all sorts of "demon posession" etc. There are higher crime rates on the coasts, but they are more "logical" with motives like sex, money, vengeance. The truly twisted stuff is in the Bible Belt, generally.

Do you know what the "Bible Belt" is?
That's like asking a bunch of Muslims why the Taliban has the same problems as everyone else.

Actually it has more problems. Generally states in the bible belt have higher crime rates, more violence, higher divorce rates more poverty and greater illiteracy.

The "Bible Belt" has these problems for one reason. Sin is no respecter of persons any more than God is. Wherever sin is allowed into the hearts, minds, and souls of men, these problems will exist.

Because like the rest of the country. People who profess to be saved never live like it. Never read their bible. And don't stand up for sin in their own lives. How can they change the world around them if they want to wallow in its filth?

Actually we have a higher rate in many cases. The divides between race and religion are THICK here. The tension explodes all the time.
