great question...sometimes I'll recommend making soup or chili and someone will say, "it's not Cold out" or "it's summer so don't make any".
It's the weirdest thing ever. How does the season or temperature outdoors dictate a certain craving for food? To me, chili and soup tastes great whatever the weather is.
I think people associate soup with sickness, colds, and chili with cold weather, etc. It's very odd indeed. I eat anything anytime anyplace anywhere. taht's just me though.

It warms up your body. IT is healthy and not too filling which helps when its dark, cold, wet, and rainy out because you can easily feel more lazy. It is definitely a comfort food as said above.
