I went to a seminar, where a preacher was disscussing the book of Genisis, (the first chapter in the Bible) and he was talking about dinosaurs!! He was disscussing the possibility of them being around in this time, and talked about how the flood was the real cause of there dismise( the flood of Noah's ark) as how Noah could"nt (or would"nt) bring them on cause of there girth and Violent behavior, and way he said in the first chapter it does talk about , in one verse an animal, who is discribed as a dinosaur, but isnt given a name, I do belive it said it was a very large animal, and was bigger than an ox, and had a very big tail, ect..I do remeber seeing this, but I can't find it now, does anybody know what verse this is located in, and have any more knowledge on this subject?...Any answers would be apprecaited, and please if you don't belive in the bible and have a negetive comment, you can feel free to keep it to your self! Thanks everyone!! I will be posting more questions later!

Job chapters 40 and 41.
It is a common misconception that all dinosaurs were big. The average size of animals classified as dinosaurs is about the size of a sheep. The Bible says that God sent at least a male and female of each to the ark. These didn't have to be the large ones. Also, you can imagine the narrowing affect that the flood would have had on the gene pool (animals predisposed genetically to a larger size would have died because they weren't present on the ark). The surviving gene pool would only exist on the ark, and all land and air dwelling life would spring from this pool. This is possible and reasonable from a scientific standpoint in 4-5K years.

The speculation that the Noadic flood caused the destruction of the dinosaurs (not to mention the fabled unicorn) is a belief as old as the discovery of dinosaurs themselves. It has no foundation - even in scripture - and is wholly speculation.
As suggested by one answer, dinosaurs (if still extant) could have been brought aboard as eggs - assuming that such would not survive in the water.
Behemoth, in Job, is the animal to which you are referring (as correctly answered above). The New Jerusalem Bible speculates that this may be a crocodile of some sort, which in that area attain a size large enough to make regular prey of humans. Since it is likely that oxen were smaller then (husbandry having had at least 2500 years less time to increase their size), this is quite reasonable (though hardly certain).
For all those dinosaur nay-sayers: only a few weeks ago, scientists discovered an enormous herd of animals in Ethiopia that was formerly unknown to science. Literally hundreds of elephants, as well as thousands of other very large mammals, are within this herd. Scientists simply were unaware that his huge number of huge animals existed.
Thus, it is *entirely* unscientific to claim that no large dinosaurs ever existed at the same time as man. All that can be said, scientifically, is that there is no *evidence* of dinosaurs co-existing with man. Considering the huge size of this previously-unknown herd, it is entirely possible (though admittedly unlikely) that dinosaurs live on the earth today.
However, there is also no reason to believe that dinosaurs became extinct during the flood. All evidence *suggests* (not proves) that they became extinct prior to the creation of man.

Genesis chapter 1. There are several views from christians on this.
View #1: A big cataclism event ocurred between the creation on Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 that caused the creation be in a caos condition as described in Genesis 1:2. (A war in heaven to expell Lucifer from there?) As a result of that caotic event the dinosaurs created in Genesis 1:1: were extinct (casualties of war?). No time is given for the gap between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, millions or billions of years?
View #2: Dinosaurs were created at the same time of current reptiles, birds, mammals, etc. They lived with man for some time until be extint. When they got extinct? Some think before the flood, others during the flood. Some others think that some of the dinosaurs survived the flood and were the origin of dragon and other similar tales about strange creatures available in many cultures from China to Europe.
There are maybe more views

Dinosaurs & Noah
If they were alive during the flood I think Noah was able to manage them the same way God helped Noah to manage bears, lions, wolfes and many other violent animals.
Girth? big size? The requirement from God was a male and a female of each kind, not two adults. Noah could have bring two babies (male & female) of each large animal alive.

Hope this hepls.
Verse on animal or dinosaur on the Bible. (Please keep in mind the word dinosaur was invented recently, not available to Moses or other biblical writters).
Check the description of the behemot at the book of Job 40:15-24. Some people think it refers to a hippopotamus, others to a much larger creature.
Also check for the Leviatan (Just a crocodile or a bigger reptile? Some verses talks about Leviatan living at the sea, do crocodile swin in salt water?): Book of Job 40: 24-32, 41:1-24, Psalms 104:25,26, Psalms 74:14, Isaiah 27:1
Genesis 1:21 mentions that God created the great sea monsters. Who are they? just the whales, white sharks or giant squids? Or they include what we call know aquatic dinosaurs like the plesiosaur?

Thanks for your question. It's an interesting thing to ponder.
I think that the first thing you have to ask yourself is this: Do you believe the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant Word of God? By that, I mean, do you believe that the Bible is error-free, or do you believe that the Bible contains errors?
Personally, as a Lutheran Christian, I believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, without error. In Genesis 7:2-3, God tells Noah to take in EVERY creature into the ark. It further says that Noah did. To me, that means that unicorns and dinosaurs didn't exist.
So what about all the fossils? There's an old Monty Python sketch that shows a "big toe" fossil being discovered, which is then analyzed by scientists, and from that, they can build the entire body...it turns out to be a big dinosaur, and the "big toe" that they found is placed as the dinosaur's nose. The point being, no one knows for sure. I believe that the Bible tells us that every species was on the ark.
Thanks for the question! I'll look forward to hearing the answers of others, too.

I have to answer this question with a little logical thinking ..
BTW I do not believe IN a book .. no more do I believe IN a table ...
I do however believe the message being taugh by the writings contained in the bible
Now on to your question:
first simple math:
currently the conceses seems that there are roughly 2M species in the world
Lets just for fun say that 1M of them could fly or survive with out the ark
Now lets say in order to walk up the gangway .. and get the creatures on the ark lets assume 1 min / species
1 000 000 Mins =
525600 Mins = 1 years so just to load the ark we are looking at 2 years.
lets look at the dimensons of the ark 300 cubit .. lets put a cubit at say 21" this gives us a ship with roughly 100000 sqf of floor space .. well not even including insects at this point you only have room for rougly 50,000 animals thus given an average size of say 1 sqf .. now you have to include size for penning .. food .. etc even 50,000 is begining to look suspect
ok folks I think I'm seeing a parable here ... the math just doesnt support the story sorry .....
I havent even touched on things like fossil records .. atomic dating .. geological time etc.. that puts the existance of human's and dinosaurs at the same time in very serious doubt

Why don't you try looking it up, did the preacher read it word for word out of the Bible or was as you say, he just dicussing it? Noah built the Ark 500 years before the flood, I'm sure people thought he was crazy, when he said he heard the Lord.

The animals you mention are leviathon and Behemoth; book of Job.
Here is a point of difference; the time of the book of Job was well after the flood but before the Exodus from Egypt. Job was the son of Isaachar(Gen. 46:13), Eliphaz (one of his consolers) was the son of Esau (Gen. 36:4) Further notice the book of Job does not describe/mention the law of Moses.

I'm a Christian and i don't believe that they lived during the time of the flesh man,............they lived Millions of yrs. ago.
No dino's during Noah's FLOOD!
It states in Genesis 1:1 that in the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth........Period!....he didn't say when was the beginning...........well it's obvious that it was billions or even trillions of yrs. ago.......that's not hard to understand for me.
Now as far as the Behemoth ( Dinosaur) that would be in Job 40 :15-24.....It talkes about the behemoth that moved his tail like a Cedar.........that ain't no water ox .....hun.!
A CEDAR is pretty darn big....don't you agree.......and LEVIATHAN I'm not to sure about that one,.....it could be symbolic of Satan or it could be Carnivorous Fire breathing reptile......it's possible....Look at the bombardier Beetle.........it has a miniature flame throwing mechanism of sorts.........just food for thought.
Oh i don't claim to be a expert......i was just interested in your question??
Peace Out Pete

Properly translated they are called 'behemoth.' "He moveth his tail like a cedar." A Strong's Concordance will also help you.
The behemoth did not exist at the time of Noah.
Job 40:15-24
"Behemoth" description fits that of a dinosaur

The bible doesn't list what animals. But if you could count every kind of animal on this planet..there were many. Too many to list in the bible.
