The question is more like: Should Iran prepare itself for a war with Team America - World Police. The answer to that is yes!!

Yes, the World should prepare itself. If Iran keeps up their attitude towards Israel. It is only a matter of time before we (the World’s referee) get involved and protect our ally, Israel. See, Congress wont have to approve the war, it only takes Iran’s taunting of bombing regional U.S. bases for President George Bush’s Directive 51 to kick in. Then all hell breaks loose. Not to mention, Russia, is rapidly growing military-wise. They have weapon contracts with Vietnam, China, India and Iran. Everything from Military Jets to Nuclear weapons. Just remember, China and Russia were having War games not to long ago, and China just recently was caught red-handed hacking the Pentagon. Russia and Iran are allies and bottomline, we arent ready for War!!!

Before Desert Storm, it was a bit nerve racking. Iraq had the 4th largest military on the planet. One big concern was the new (well new then) T-72 Tank and their Hyper Velocity Fin Stabilized Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot rounds that the Iraqis got from the Soviet Union. They had chemical weapons and the MOPP suit and protective mask is such a pain.
Well, we all know how that story came out, Iran will be no different.
As it turns out, it was kind of chilly when Desert Storm kicked off and the MOPP suits were OK.

There is no doubt in my mind that the US of A could sort out Iran within a couple of weeks, even if they are a bit stretched at the moment in other places.
Unlike most of your answers I think this problem has little to do with oil!
To my (simple) mind USA is looking after the safety of it's own people, good luck to them.
I also thnk you are correct to address this question about 'the world' !
A war with Iran by the USA could never be sanctioned by the UN because Russia and China have invested a lot of capital within that country, but then again who gives a sh*t about the UN, what good are they?
Before I rant on a bit more and to save any frantic hunts on my profile, I am not American, I am not a 'red neck' I am a Brit.
OK back to your question, your proposition is quite valid , I can only assume that any defeat of Iran by the USA would have the ultimate aim of a change of goverment?
Bribery has been tried,to stop the production of nukes, whats left?
So Russia may get involved after any such attack or would they? China may get involved, or would they?
Who really knows, I dont, but I hope some one some where has got it right or we could indeed be looking at WW3!
I think this calls for another double vodka, now theres a question, will I still be able to get
my vodka if we are at war with Russia? If not then I am 100% against any sort of action!!!

El Baradei, head of the IAEA (the UN's nuclear watchdog), firmly stated repeatedly (especially in recent weeks), that the current IAEA nuclear inspections never found any proof or indication that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon.

This is in light of the alarming statements made by the Bush administration and just a couple of days ago by France, that a military strike against Iran is being considered.

El Baradei reminded of the same events that led to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which was based on the notion that Iraq had WMD's, which later turned out to be false. The exact pattern of events are now brewing in the case of Iran.

Iran has been preparing for war with the world (especially the US) for over 25 years.

The only one interested in war with Iran would be the US, but their military will be tied up in the Iraq oil wars for the foreseeable future. The real war is with Islamic Terrorist who have made it known that they will convert us or kill us. The two links below explain the problem very well.

It is really all about making big money anyway they can. In 1965 I saw our new military vehicle that used water for fuel, but it just disappeared ... wonder where it went? Search for "Water for/as a Fuel" and you will find lots of people working with this.

What 'world' is going to have a war with Iran?

You mean just the daft YANKS!

Certainly not THE WORLD!

Yet again the United States wants to pick on a much weaker country like a playground bully picks on a smaller, weaker child.

Remember how their 'mighty' forces were kicked out of Vietnam by starving peasants wearing threadbare pyjamas!

As usual they will end up looking silly and the whole world will laugh at the mess they make of it all!

N.B. There are over 200 countries in the world of which the U.S. is just ONE.

The Americans can't even get on with the United Nations! The yanks are the ones who want to fight the world, they are the real troublemakers.

Remember that the current government in Iran gained power overthrowing a corrupt puppet dictator put in charge of a murderous régime in Iran by the CIA in 1953. Is it any wonder they distrust the imperialist American oil-thieves?

My goodness the good little monumentally hypocritical Christians are back at more war mongering.

Aside from the fact that the US aided and abetted Israel in securing nuclear weapons which profoundly disrupted the power balance in the region, why should other countries not have that which the US and Israel etc etc etc etc have.

Let us never forget that the only country in the world who has ever used a nuclear weapon during war was the US and it did so NOT when their country was profoundly threatened but rather after the enemy had been defeated and was running home.Like shooting somebody in the back the US found a justification for the use of ATOMIC BOMBS and in doing so ,set a precident.

Even the USSR as it was imploding DID NOT RESORT TO THE USE OF ATOMIC WEAPONS TO SAVE ITSELF .

Ergo based upon actual historical FACTS ,I trust neither the US or Israel et al to be any more or less responsible in the use of nuclear weapons than other nations in principle.

Why are other countries not "allowed" to have atomic bombs to defend themselves??..

Obviously NO COUNTRY should have nuclear weapons but again it was the US that started all this and continues to violate the International Non-Proliferation Treaty in it's recent pact with India.

And do you war mongers think for a nano second that China and Russia are going to stand idly by and watch THEIR ALLY warred against .

The world has had it with the US's constant war mongering and using other countries as arena in which to slaughter other INNOCENT humans in other lands such as in Iraq where The US's illegal war atrocity of choice which was/is based upon a pack of filthy stinking lies has seen the slaughter of over 400,000 innocent Iraqi civilians.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/10/AR2006101001442.html

Reminds me of Hiltler where during WW11 any German Soldier that was killed by insurgents/locals resulted in the killing as punishment of innocent civilians .

And you call yourselves a CHRISTIAN NATION !!! You stinking hypocrites !!!

Political ignoramuses are taking some comfort from the French Foreign Minister's statement about Iran but do not realize the French population would REVOLT if Sarkosy ever followed through on this silliness.

Given the Muslim/Arab ever increasing hatred of the US and the West,a war with Iran could turn the Middle East into disaster and push the Arab countries every closer to china and Russia
