"Cryotherapy" refers to any type of modality that uses the process of lowering the temperature of a tissue. It could be something as simple as putting a cold pack on a contusion, "ice massage", using a cold infusion pump, or the act of freezing sometype of growth. Collectively, these modalities are known as "cryotherapy." I imagine a boxer would have lots of reasons to use crytherapy for contusions, sprains, etc.

CRYOTHERAPY IS THE FREEZING OF SOMETHING USING LIQUID NITROGEN OR ANOTHER EXTREMELY COLD SUBSTANCE. IT IS USED TO REMOVE WARTS, TUMORS, ETC AND WHY WOULDN'T A BOXER AVAIL HIMSELF OF THIS MEDICAL TREATMENT IF HE NEEDED IT? IT AVOIDS CUTTING AND HEALS QUICKER.
