Jesus was born a Jew. But his teaching were more in line with Buddhism (love, forgiveness, generosity).
Buddha was born 500 years before Christ and there was known silk trade between Buddhist countries and the Roman Empire. It's likely that Jesus was aware of Buddhist teachings and tried to bring them to his people. He was rejected by the powerful Roman and Jewish leaders and put to death.
History has lost the Buddhist connections but there are many book in print that compare Jesus words with the words of Buddha.

He is the Christ. The word "christian" was just somethin people called the believers who followed christ. It was originally used to mock and insult them, but they took the name (and the shame) and ran with it. So,we have "christians" meaning Christ-follower.

saul persecuted the christ followers,then on the way to damaskus he got this idea to ,instead of going after them and kill them,he infiltrated the followers and told them that God explained to him not to kill them anymore.so they believed him and he corrupted them,and call them christians
