Tips for Increasing Calories While Keeping a Healthy Diet

Add cheese, nuts and dressings made with olive, walnut or canola oil to salads.

Eat starchy vegetables such as potatoes and corn more often.

Choose dried fruits or fruit juices as healthy higher calorie snacks.

Add cream or cheese sauces to fish and baked chicken breast.

Choose herbs and spices to increase the flavors of your food rather than using too much salt.

Add powdered milk to soups and sauces to add calories and protein.

Peanut butter on whole grain bread, apples or celery sticks is a great source of protein and calories.

Stick with healthy desserts, such as a bowl of berries with whipped topping and lot of chopped nuts.

Add your healthy salad dressings to sandwiches and to top vegetables.

If you don’t care for much meat, add legumes such as black beans, kidney beans and pinto beans as protein sources.

Pick dark chocolate as a treat. Dark chocolate has anti-oxidants that other sweets don’t have.

Exercise to Gain Weight
Exercise is very important for good health and the right type of exercise can help you gain muscle, which will give you more body mass. Weight lifting exercises that are designed to build muscle should be included with your weight gaining diet and perhaps aerobic exercise should be cut back a bit.

You need to do your research and eat LOTS of protein and foods that are high in good fat content and load up on calories you should be eating at least 3000 calories a day, but not junk! Try eating lots of turkey and chicken and peanutbutter, avacado has lots of good fat, and nuts. Also you should be eating pasta EVERYDAY, (preferably wheat or something but regualr is okay) pasta has good carbs and will give you energy to work out! Also you can try supplimenting with a protein powder mix it with some yogurt and fruit for a tasty shake in the morning you could even add some chocolate or Peanutbutter if you like them. It's all about knowing what you are putting in your body! Good Luck

Do not consume JUNK meals! Excerise loads. I'd advise going for walks or whatever. It puts muscle in your legs , which is weight. And devour every 3 hours. Like have ur normal breakfast. Then three hours later get an vigour bar, or granola bar or some variety of small snack. And then devour lunch. Then the equal factor. Excellent luck!! And thats awesome that u need to attain weight, most girls(if u r one?) would believe that they have got to lose extra weight and that they're fat, however thats underweight kindve.

To gain weight, you should increase the number of calories in your daily diet by about 300 calories. These extra calories should be part of a balanced diet. Having high protein foods like peanut butter, eggs, milk, will help. You can find a lot of info on gaining weight at http://www.myweight.info

Don't forget that you want to gain healthy weight, not just fat. In addition to the foods others have said, you should do weight lifting exercises in a good general program. Actually, if you do pushups and squats every day you don't even need to use weights other than your own body weight.

Max your calories. make every bite that goes in your mouth count......Example: Drink whole milk not 2% you will get more calories for your drink.....look at everything. Weather it be a Burger v/s and chicken patty.....it take longer for your body to digest beef. There for beef will help you gain weight.

Hope this helps

Eat plenty of healthy carbs (whole wheat breads and pasta, brown rice) and protein (lean meats, chicken, fish) to give you energy, and stay active! I love doing cardio and strength training to keep fit.

Good luck!
