Well I'll try to explain everything that's wrong. First my yahoo messenger is acting weird. When I click on the mail icon, it won't load the page, it says inernet explorer cannot display the webpage. What's causing this and can I fix it? When I click on certain links in my favorites list, sometimes it'll load, sometimes it won't. What's causing this? Also I did a registry scan with CCleaner and I was wondering if maybe that deleted certain files that I needed or something. Thanks in advance for any help

Suggest you run your antivirus program in Safe Mode. That way, Windows will not be loaded and you, hopefully, can catch any self-executable files.

Safe Mode:
Turn your PC on.
Before Windows begins to load, press and hold down the F8 key.
In a minute or two you will get a DOS menu.
Press the appropriate key for Safe Mode (usually F3).
In another minute you will be in Safe Mode.
Run your antivirus program.
When finished, Restart
Desktop icons will probably be out of order.
Drag them back to where you want them.
Run a full system scan before you do anything else.

Now that you have a clean HD, you might need a System Restore:

If you didn't have any problems with using yahoo messenger and IE before using CCleaner, then probably yes. Perhaps try un-installing yahoo messenger then re-installing to see if that helps.

CCleaner will keep a backup of the registry...try restoring it. If not you can do a restore of the system using XP or Vista restore function.

I can help you with this.

It sounds like you might (small chance) be infected with something. There are a few things I would have to ask, but I can assist you with this problem.
