Ok so it occured to me (and is actually backed up by the Bible) that maybe the Pagans were right.. maybe there are actually multiple Gods...
The Bible backs this up when it says "God" told people not to worship any other Gods but him.. this implies that there are other Gods...

Even pagans will admit the Christian God EXISTS.
We simply don't care.

The bible CLEARLY states that God is a jelous god. Worship no god before him for they are "false". Well duh. Of course he's going to call them "false". He thinks he's top dog. BUT that doesn't mean he says they don't EXIST. False doesn't mean imaginary. It simply means, to his followers they are not true. There is a difference.

edit: Bravo wulf! That we are. Our gods still call our blood lines and we will ALWAYS answer.

Absolutely. Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah even acknowledged this to King Nebuchadnezzar before he had them thrown into the firey furnace in the account in the book of Daniel. They told him that his gods were not the ones they were worshipping and they would worship their own only even upon threat of death. The Bible acknowledges there are other gods but the nation of Isreal was to worship only one. Everyone has the choice to worship whatever gods they want. The wise person, however, will know his gods or god and know what will be expected of him before he makes a committment.

This view is particularly consistant with the two conflicting creation stories at the beginning. "Let us(!) create..."? You could take the view that the first story was a creation by a council of deities, and the second story was more specifically about Eden and one particular deity. It would also explain where all those people like the entire city of Nod came from.

The Bible makes a lot more sense with this deity framework in mind. But no, Christians want to cling on to their Zoroastrian-influenced duality so bad and say there's only one deity, that all the bad guys are the same, etc.

Greetings!

The word "Gods" is somewhat mis-leading, as "The Bible" has many names for God, that have been mutilated and changed by various monotheists through the centuries.

The "Old Testament" was never a "Book written in Hebrew", but was actually an effort by Greek scribes to bring together and preserve the History of the Tribes in the Middle-East-so, as a "Book" it WAS written in Greek, then translated (badly) back into Hebrew, then into Latin, English, etc.

One cannot blame current readers for their mistakes, as Scripture has long been altered by power-seekers, to follow their will, not "Gods" will

the Pagans were as right as most believers, since the true number of Gods is 0.

Even better, the greek version of the book of Genesis reads "the gods, male and female created the heavens and the earth". Even the english KJV of the Old Testament still says in some areas things like "let US go down to the man...".

Of course- you are on the right track. Paganism is the basis for all other religions.

There are still many Pagans out there (of course most are underground, for obvious reasons)

Which Pagans?

The ones in Europe? The ones in Asia? The ones in the Americas, Africa, or Australia?

We pagans might be right, some of us. And pagans of the past might have been right, some of them.

What the Bible said about it doesn't have much significance in any case.
