Lack of education and understanding.
It is sad and just plain disgusting when people make fun of those with disabilities...and I think it has to do with lack of knwoing how to respond to them...and guess what? Instead of trying to learn more and educate themselves by interacting with individuals with disabilities, they find it easier to avoid and make fun.
Having said that, I personally wouldn't consider Asperger's as a disability. I have seen some kids with Asperger's and mild autism and they have been the most adorable kids I've interacted with...

Because they are silly an immature.
Unfortunately, asperger's and autism are often "invisible" disabilities. Like, if someone is missing a leg, you can't miss it, but if you look regular on the outside people will forget.
My boyfriend has asperger's, and sometimes I do just forget that some things are hard for him. He has trouble with facial expressions, for example, so I have to make sure to *say* what I think as well. But it's a learning process for me as well.
I'm not saying it's an excuse, because it should never be, but I'm sure sometimes you will just act "strange" in other people's eyes - but they don't know why because you look normal.
What I can say : it does get better when you grow older, and it is possible to find friends who are not idiots :)
I wish you good luck.

through fact they are stupid an immature. regrettably, asperger's and autism tend to be "invisible" disabilities. Like, if somebody is lacking a leg, you are able to no longer miss it, yet once you look familiar on the outdoors human beings will forget. My boyfriend has asperger's, and at times I do exactly forget that some issues are difficult for him. He has hassle with facial expressions, for example, so I might desire to verify to *say* what i think of besides. even though it extremely is a gaining expertise of technique for me besides. i'm no longer asserting this is an excuse, through fact this is going to possibly in no way be, yet i'm beneficial at times you will purely act "unusual" in different individuals's eyes - yet they do no longer understand why given which you look frequent. What i will say : it does get extra constructive once you strengthen older, and it extremely is achievable to locate associates who're no longer idiots :) I desire you good success.

Hi hon
People make fun because they are ignorant. I think that is the best answer.
Those of you with aspbergers are normally highly intelligent. I know a little about it because i have a friend with aspberger's. she has difficulties socializing, but has gotten a little better at it over the years, and has made a few friends.
I sure do wish you all the best of everything in life! Take care of YOU, and please don't measure your self-worth by people who have no idea what it's like to be born with an illness that makes us "different".
P.S. I have an illness too.

I am sorry people do that to you and your brother. I think they are like that because it is from ignorance. They do not understand, and they think it is OK to put others down who are different.
If you are a kid, then i know kids can be very mean about this. They think it is cool to tease others, and if someone who has a disability they are prime targets.
This is one thing that really makes me mad about people.. I can't stand the way my own child is treated at times by others just because he comes accross as "different"

People that do not understand the disabilities and the ones that are scared that they might have a disability are the ones that like to make fun. If you know who you are inside and you know you are a wonderful person, who cares about what anyone else thinks.

Because some people are born losers ! If someone makes fun of your disabilities , you have to remember that person is almost always an uneducated , low-level moron with a corresponding IQ , and therefore you should feel sorry for him/her .

I think it is because people with afflictions that fall into the category of PDD or Pervasive Development Disorders are viewed as different. There should be more education in our schools about these as they have become much more prevalent of late.

It hurts me too that people make fun of those with disabilities. But actually it is not just disabled people ,but pretty much anyone who doesn't meet a certain criteria in society .
But you know what... we are all perfect in God's eyes.He made us and excepts us just as we are .

Because they are narrow minded S.O.B.s
You and your brother are better than them and its okay to not feel sorry about those idiots who push your buttons.
They should put themselves in you or your brothers shoes for just one day to see how they feel about having autism.
