I keep busy with my two children, I have a 3yo a 9mo and we are ttc a third and FINAL, lol. I can't wait until my daughter starts kindy so I can get a move on with my uni degree (I am trying to become a social worker) but it will mean that I can also spend some one on one time with my son, who I think all second and third etc need that little bit of time too. By the time I have chased the little buggers around to get them dressed in the morning, lol it is nearly nap time for my son, then more housework (yuck) and spend time with daughter. feed everybody the maybe an outing to god knows where, then son has another sleep. Study or Internet, whichever is calling me more, lol. Feed everyone again and then muck around time, dad is home the kids are stirred up, lol. Bath chase them some more to get them dressed (my kids hate clothes, I have a mini nudist colony here, lol). Read stories bed ....................ah rest......................lol.
Rinse and repeat the next day. Busy busy busy, lol
Bet you are too.

I home school all four of my kids this year, but last year my two oldest, 8 and 5 at the time, went to school and I stayed home with my 4 and 2 year old. By the time I got the older kids off to school, cleaned and cared all day for the younger ones, it was time to pick up the older. If I did have time to go out, I would eat lunch with a friend or my husband. Also, a lot of dance schools and indoor pools have toddler classes that include mommy. That would be fun.

My typical day is:
1. Meet a friend and go to the gym or go for a run
2. Any housework and laundry
3. Tidy my room
4. Read
5. Study
6. Work (from home)
7. Go for a coffee
8. Grocery shopping (if it falls due)
9. Go visit a friend or have her visit me
10. Very occasionally I have been to the movies.
11. Sometimes have a DVD day with or without a friend
I really enjoy the freedom my life has at the moment and am savouring it while I can because next year will be different!

my daughter is in 3rd grade and I have a 2 year old son and he keeps me busy. He naps shortly after getting up so I make him breakfast and he lays back down to sleep. I sometimes start cleaning right away or I get on here for a few. I spend most of my time during the day with my 2 year old. We go to the park and feed the ducks, I go and visit my mom. I always make sure all of my work is done here first.

Well my 8yr old and 5yr old are in school but I still have a 3yr old and 1 yr old to take care of. We go to playgroup (usually libraries will have one or see if there is a Mother's of Preschoolers group in your area). We also go to library storytime and any other programs the library offers - for instance this summer the library had different shows every week - magicians, singers, animal conservationists, puppet show etc. Sometimes I take them swimming - check out your YMCA about a family membership.
When we're just hanging around the house we dance to music, play play-doh (the 3yr old not the baby lol), color, play with toys, and occasionally when I have homework I let my 3yr old watch Dora or Backyardigans. Of course I also clean house and let them help - especially the 3yr old - he picks up toys, helps make beds, wipes tables and just generally copies me lol.
Just have fun and see what your community has to offer!

I am a full time wife and mother with school age children. I happen to homeschool my children, though-so I have no problem staying busy LOL.
I would say that when they are in school, it is a good time to organize their rooms (without them there to complain about your throwing out clothes that they outgrew or what not), mop the floors without having to worry about them getting tracked through before they dry, etc.
Join a program such as Mommy and Me for you and your toddler son. Such programs usually meet once a week, and would offer opportunities for you and your son to get together with other moms and toddlers.
You could also take up a hobby, catch up on your reading or correspondance, etc. Just find something that works for you!

You can do all your motherhood chores before she comes home for you will be around if she needs your help, and you can also find a book to read or pick a hobby to do and spend a little time doing it while taking care of your son,you can do alot of things when the kids are in school believe me.I have 3 boys 15,12,10 and I run a cattle farm to so you see I do my inside chores while their gone and all farm chores until they come home and then we do homework and finish up the simple chores, and enjoy each others times.

I have a set schedule all day long. It is good for my toddler.
We get up, breakfast, he plays while I clean up, then we go outside to play, 11-2 nap time ( I surf or clean), 2 - diaper change, then we work on numbers or letters or colors, then we go outside again until about 3:30 or 4, then we come back inside or a drink and snack, at about 5 I start making dinner and if he wants, I let him watch Elmo or some educational video while I cook. Right before dinner is served, I get him to pick up his toys.

I'm not a stay at home mom, I'm a nanny, but I find it difficult to even entertain myself during nap time, because the 2 year old I care for is that fun to be around;-)So I won't know what to do when he goes to school, I guess care for his brother, who will be about 2 1/2 at that time.

I am a stay at home mom of 4. Three in school and my youngest is home(20 months). We enjoy our alone time while everyone else is at school. We color, sing songs, play games, and make crafts. We also get all the shopping, cleaning, and other errands done.
