Everyone has their own reasons to worship GOD. But I worship GOD to implore It to release me from the bondage of flesh and liberate me from this endless cycle of birth-life-death-rebirth. And I have a strong feeling that he might listen to my earnest prayers.

Because we have no knowledge. When there is just love for God that would be called worship. When together with love there is knowledge about the self, God and karma then you can put your love for God in a practical way and that is called spirituality which is different then worship.

So as long as there is no accurate knowledge there will be worship.

our existence is based on the GOD----whatever the name, philosophy, religion.

An employee always look at employer. children look at their parents.

We can not expect any moment with out order of the almighty.

We are in the ultra-modern society but could not evolve a machine to work without any energy. But the entire universe works systematically. For an instance our Earth speeds round the sun at a speed of 1,00,000k.ms. per hour, at the same time the earth spins 1,000 miles per hour. The whole universe is still a mystery.

By worshipping GOD, we have been getting peace.

The belief of the GOD or worshipping the GOD itself makes us comfortable as if a child in the hands of parents.

People worship gods for various reasons. Some believe that it is the way to eternal life. Some believe that it is a way to avoid punishment. Some do it because they want to be seen worshipping, and be viewed by their piers as virtuous. Some do it out of obedience only, based on a command.

If you're speaking of the God of the Bible, none of the above are a good reason. The God of the Bible exists as the most glorious and satisfying being or object in existence (this is an objective truth outside opinion). Being that, His most loving act is making that glorous and satisfying nature accessable to His creation. Worship is a response to the satisfaction that comes from experiencing God. Therefore, it is voluntary, and good for us, which is why it is only of value if sincere, and is commanded by God because of it's benefit to us.

"Thou shalt have no other gods before Me" is a command that actually protects us from settling for a less satisfying object, and is for our own good.

One cannot expect someone who does not have a relationship with God see worship as any sort of rational behavior or response.
