I was doing research on the net and one of the side effects is diarrhea. I have kept her in today in hopes that she will poo and I can examine it (yes, gross, but that's what parents do)!

My question is (I am calling my vet today) if she is having diarrhea, is it safe to just cut out the treatment entirely? She hasn't been on it long term, which is when they should be weaned off of it, but I just want to be sure that if I cut it out entirely I won't be making life hell for her.

She is a very private cat and does not EVER go indoors (diarrhea or no diarrhea), unless she is kept inside (i.e. when she is sick).

She was prescribed prozac by her vet for aggression. It is working, but as I have said, I have no way of knowing she is having the side effect of diarrhea because of her demand for privacy. I have had her indoors now for 24 hrs and she has not even peed!! It usually takes her 2 days before she says, "Okay, I'll go in the @#$* box already!"

why have it on prozac?? well call yer vet. she may choose to go outside because if she has diarrhea and can't control it, it may be easier for her to " poo" outside and not worry about not making it to the potty box.
