Here are a few tips:

1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right?

2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat.

3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.”

4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits.

5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight.

6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food.

7. Avoid these as much as possible:

-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)

8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:

-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
-- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)

9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.

Good luck!

the only way to loose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. This can be done 2 ways :
1) eat fewer calories
2) exercise more.

If you're not already in an exercise routine, many people find it difficult to begin one and stick to it. Which is why dieting is so popular.

the problem with many diets is that they limit entire food categories (e.g. carbs) that your body needs. Eventually your body craves these foods so much you break the diet.

The best advice I've heard is to eat smaller portions more frequently - something like this:
eat a good breakfast
Have a small morning snack (maybe fruit)
eat a smaller lunch focusing on the "main course"
In the afternoon eat a snack (some sort of grain - granola bar?)
Then eat a normal dinner

By spreading out your eating across the day, you feel less hungry and will tend to not over eat.

If you do this, as well as start to increase your exercise, you should start to see results.

Remember, it's a process. You'll keep weight off better if you loose it slowly (1-2 lbs a week)

Good Luck!

You won't lose and keep off any significant weight unless you exercise. Exercising boosts your metabolism so that your body burns off more calories.
Start with 10-15 min/day walking or if possible using a treadmill or an elliptical. As you lose you will be able to increase time and intensity. But start soon because the older you get, the more difficult it will be to do it.

Have you tried the glass of water diet? All you have to do is drink an 8 ounce glass of water before eating and then when you start to feel full, stop. Simple as that. Oh and if you start to feel hungry in between meals, then drink another glass of water or some skim milk. Hope this helps you out.

Just few weeks back, I met one of my old friend’s who was also going through the fat loss process. In the last few months, he had been able to lose some big of pounds in a healthy and entertaining way. He had been enjoying his weight loss program.

The biggest plus point for his weight loss seems to me his passion for cyclingexercise bike. He spends some of his time riding his bike. That had helped him a lot. That seems to be really useful to me and I have decided that I am going to try it out. When I collected some information about cycling or exercise bike, I find that they are quite helpful in losing weight in an entertaining and funny way.

So I have purchased an exercise bike which I going to lose at least four times in the week. Cycling looks such an easy way to lose extra fat to me. But I and all of us need to be consistent with it. So I am going to devote some of my exercising time to cycling. I am really exciting about it as I really love it. I hope with weight loss cycling will help me to be more fit and fine.

To get some real results with this kind of exercise program we have to be full of enthusiasm. We need to make cycling a part of our life. And it will take some time to make cycling a part of our life. So we all have to start it slowly and then increase it with time. Even ten minutes of cycling in the beginning will be helpful.

With weight loss cycling will help in improving overall health. It will help in reducing the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure. When we do cycling we feel better physically and mentally. So my old friend has given me a new friend in the form of exercise bike. So it is good to get a new good friend from an old friend. And now I am going to enjoy my ride. And if you like you can also enjoy it.

Just try simply eating healthier..... cut out fatty food, such as beef and substitute it for leaner meats like chicken and pork..... also drink lots of water during the day... and really try to follow the food pyramid
