Hi and congrats! with my first daughter i had to be induced... labor was crazy. my contractions were closer together and VERY painfull, with my second baby i had a natural not inducecd labor. it is still painfull but i think the contractions are not as bad.
Now for the epideral... my first epideral i could not feeel nothing below the waist not even my legs and i felt as if that was better because with my second daughter i could feel my legs with that epideral and it felt as if i did not even have an epideral... BUT no matter what i would get an epideral if you can.. people are always scared of the needle but when your in labor you can not even feel the needle and after you get it you feel a lot better:) good luck and don't be scared you get a wonderful miricle out of it!!!

I have only had an induced labour but I've heard that it's not much more painful overall, the main thing is that an induced labour goes from 0-60 right away where a naturally starting labour slowly progresses. So soon it's going to hurt just as much, it just takes a little longer.

Hi there and congrats! I have had both natural and induced.
The ways to induce labor is to rupture the membranes(break the water) and/or add pitocin type of stimulator In a shot or I.V.
This will bring about strong contractions.I would not choose that for myself again due to the fact that Labor is a natural process, our bodies tell us when our body and our baby is ready;unless something is going wrong there is no need to "induce" the labor. The contractions of a natural birth without induction are a build up,so we get used to them,we learn to breathe through them, and we know when they are ending, and can rest for the next. When pitocin is used:there is no natural build up;there are strong contractions that are not in sync with the body, therefore making it harder to keep ON top of them.Sure it makes things go quicker but the price of that is not being in control of your own process.
When I had natural childbirth I could walk round, get in the hot tub, have hubby massage my back, etc.yoga balls, rocking chairs all help with the gravity necessary and naturally.
As for the epidural I would never consider it,for some they like it,I however know 3 women who have had consistent back pain since then, and of course it limits your movements you would have a catheter in your back dispensing meds.
Whatever works for you is your choice, and I hope I shed some light.Good Luck:)

Induced labor is MUCH more intense and the contractions are closer together. I didn't have an epidural, though, so I can't help you there.
Good luck in the delivery of this child. I hope everything goes well and you don't need the pitocin.

I can not talk from revel in precisely. None of mine have been chemically prompted. But my sister had one like that, and it used to be as despite the fact that the youngster simply wasn't equipped but. She used to be there for a pair days, they usually eventually had to make use of the forceps to drag the youngster out. His face used to be all bruised from the forceps. Her different 3 got here on their possess, and she or he had no hindrance-- no forceps, or lengthy labors. It's like deciding on a inexperienced apple off a tree as an alternative of looking ahead to that ripe second whilst it comes off for your hand. Many ladies pass via very lengthy and tough labors whilst it's prompted. The ones who've a particularly short while in hard work are regularly NOT prompted. My first youngster got here after five hours of work, 2d got here after a million-a million/two hours, and the twins got here after most effective half-hour-- for a absolutely average childbirth and not using a anesthesia. It's fine to attend till God calls the ones children into the sector. ;) There are exceptions of direction! When a youngster is a month late, and they are able to inform that the youngster is having a situation considering the fact that of that, the surgeon would possibly need to set off. I'm speaking approximately the days whilst it's performed for comfort or considering the fact that of impatience. I???mia??†

Oh hell yeah. Induced labors are longer, more painful, more likely to cause fetal distress, and more likely to result in an emergency c section.
Alawys try every possible natural option first. I was in labor for 43 1/2 hours, they did everything natural possible, short of using some cervidel to get my cervix open. I actually was able to push because of nipple stimulation.
