Anyone that feels good putting others down has low self-esteem.

I include myself in this statement. I do sometimes insult people, and when I do, I reflect on why I am doing it. It makes me feel better about myself. There are more positive ways to raise my self-esteem, so I try my best not to insult others.

No, it makes me terribly sad. I really try not to be insulting. Sometimes however when Christians combine incredible arrogance with stupidity and ignorance and insult us, I insult back. Maybe I feel they need some sort of shock to bring them back to reality. If people are polite to me though, I will be polite to them.

On the other hand I don't think it is at all insulting to point out where people are wrong. That is providing a service.

Really, I don't waste my time on such things as arguing over religion but if somebody tries to shove it down my throat, after a few "not interested" they may get an insult or two. Oh, and people who ask insulting questions suggesting atheists are nothing more than rednecks....they DESERVE to be insulted.

No not really, unless the christian person is stuck up with soo much bull that we can't take it. I'm not atheist but I'm agnostic, and it still overwhelms me when some person comes up and tries to shove a bible down my throat, when I can clearly make my own independent chioces in life. Does that help you at all? And I wouldn't make the assertion that atheists, hate christians, it's just a matter of opinions and beliefs

I've never insulted a Christian, at least for being a Christian.

But yes, it does feel good to work against the evils of Christianity and Islam. Isn't bettering the human race supposed to feel good?

Name one atheists who insults Christians. And no, making fun of fictional characters in a book doesn't count.

Edit: And nobody needs to insult you to make you look like a fool - you're doing a marvelous job yourself by posting questions like "how did the first plants survive without photosynthesis?"

I've never insulted a person because of their beliefs.
I might have insulted their beliefs, but that's another story.

When you and your ignoramus kind quit threatening me with an eternity of agony, burning in a fiery pit of sulfur, then yeah I might decide to lighten up a little.

Until that time, I will ridicule as much as your ridiculous statements and/or beliefs deserve.

In general discussing religion with anyone does not make me feel good so I would normally avoid it and talk about something less sensitive such as politics, imigration, the death penalty or football.
