A lot of Christians and Evangelicals love to disregard that they mentioned their God forgives matters once they factor out who's and is not going to hell. They play speedy and unfastened, routinely pronouncing all you ought to do is feel, routinely pronouncing there are sins as a way to ship you to hell although you do feel, and what the ones sins are alterations relying on who you speak to. They don't seem to be going by way of the legislation in any occasion; the ten commandments have been just a small side of the legislation that used to be simplest to use to the tribe of Israel, and the 7 legislation designed for all of humanity are entirely left out. In any occasion, there's a legislation towards tattoos- within the equal verse approximately shaving (see Leviticus 19, 27 and 28). One is EXACTLY as immoral as the opposite, and if a male christian with a shaved face is telling you to not get a tattoo, they're a hypocrite.

That is correct. We are not to put Tattoos on our selves not because tattooos are evil but because we are not to act as the pagans do. God has set us aside to be his once we have become born again. But don't beat yourself up over this. When you got the tatto I'm sure you did not know this. Whats important is are you born again? There are more sins in our lives than just a tattoo. For example, Have you ever told a lie?, Have you ever stolen anything?, Have you ever looked at a women with lust?, (that's adultery of the heart). You see if you have answered yes to these questions you are guilty of breaking God's law. That bible calls these sins and the punishment for sins is Hell. So if God were to judge you by his standard would you be innocent or guilty. If you are truth full to yourself you should say guilty. But we can avoid God judgment by repenting of our sins. That is turning away from sin and turning to God. And putting our trust in Jesus Christ who bore our punishment for us. Then God will give you a new heart and through the Holy Spirit you will be born again. Then you will begin to hate sin and want to leave it. Don't worry about what you have done in the past. God has wipes those transgression away when we are saved. Just don't get any more tattoos and read your Bible daily so that you will know right from wrong.

Leviticus 19:28 says:

"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD."

First, it doesn't mean that God *hates* you; and second, only God has the right to judge you, not anyone else. For God, is more important what's in your heart, don't' pay attention to that kind of people.

That quote comes from a time in history when God was calling out a people from the tribes of this world to be separated unto Himself. Tattoos were symbols used in pagan idolatry for the purpose of identifying with their "gods".

Since your tattoo is meant to identify you with Christ it doesn't violate God's intent when He told the Hebrews not to get tattoos like the pagans had.

Great question! Soooo many people misinterpret this verse!

When you read about the historical traditions back at that time, people cut themselves and tattooed themselves during times of grieving for the dead. God is telling the Israelites not to do this. That to grieve for a short time is okay and normal but to grieve too long is not necessary because their loved ones could be saved. Instead of grieving, pray for them. There is no reason to make marks (cuts and tattooes) on yourself for a dead loved one.

This verse isn't telling us not to tattoo yourself because you like the design, the color, the words, etc. Tattooes are okay for art and for making a statement. But there is no reason to do it out of anger, grief, etc. So your tat of Jesus is just fine. I have 2 butterflies and am thinking of getting another one. Just haven't figured out which one. It is permanent and I want to not have regrets.

God bless!

Yes, this is true. The Bible tells us so, and it IS the word of the lord! Unless you have it quickly removed, Jesus will condemn you, and you WILL go to HELL. Save your immortal soul and get it removed NOW.

By the way, the reason is that all humans were created in the image of God. The human body is a holy vessel and a gift from God and as such, we are expected to care for our bodies and treat them preciously, which forbids certain actions such as tattooing. By tatooing Jesus on yourself, you mock the lord.

Anyone says anything to you, show them THIS verse:

1 Samuel 16:7 (New International Version)

7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

I have over $1,500 of ink on me, & I know that God hasn't rejected me. If God only let the beautiful people into Heaven, 99.999% of us would be going to Hell!

Anyone who tells you God "hates" anything is most likely going to hell themselves. I wouldn't sweat their opinion. If you have a good heart and clear soul I doubt God is going to refer back to old testament just so he can use it against you like so many of these misguided bible thumpers would like you to believe. Your flesh is temporary, your soul lasts eternally and these people judging you are going to be shocked when it comes time for their judgment.

No that is from the Old Testament law and it doesn't apply anymore so getting a tattoo isn't wrong but if you put it on your lower back men can see it as a sex symbol and be caused to lust.

New American Standard? People print bibles today to say what they want. Don't worry about it. If that's the worse thing you do in your life you'll be with God ahead of the rest of us.
