Probably not. I, for one, find it hard to imagine feeling peaceful as I watch people being slaughtered over whose imaginary friend is better....

Many populations have in the past. Sometimes finding peace is not about observing peace... it's about feeling peace. People are dying, people are suffering. Yes it's terrible. So we must all suffer and be martyrs? Of course do the right thing, act for change, help those you can. But feel peace and joy every day because life is a wonderful opportunity. Even in our darkest hour, we need not despair if we have the knowledge that however it works out, it is for the best. All is right for me right now, however it is. If we let go of trying to get things OUR way, life is much happier. Namaste!

There is much to learn from the Mother..yes peace I mean there is nothing like a cool sunny day sitting and watching a lake or ocean ripple.. or looking up at the night sky and seeing the stars shine brightly or the moon beam down up on us..The Goddess at her best..
The thing is, in this hectic world we tend to forget those little things.. do we have to go to the beach or the mountains to find them? no.. we can sit in our back yard and look at the beauty in the trees, we can smell the flowers we can feel the peace after a good rain..
Yes The Mother brings storms upon as well they are but a part of nature and we learn from them as well.. I love to sit on my porch in a good storm and just watch and listen and learn from the raw power of the Goddess..
Now as for the person who says that is destruction and evil or however it was worded.. I would just guess your one of them people who say it is the will of your God when someones 5 year old child dies of leukimia.. think about that before you judge our beliefs..
Also Predator and Pray come from the God of the hunt not from the Goddess, This is the law of nature , survival.. and in the kingdom of wildlife it is they way to stop overpopulation of wild animals..Every living creature on this earth has a purpose, some are for food, some as companions, some as protectors ect..
Blessed Be ) O (

The earth is literally our mother, for from it our bodies come -- and it is our tomb as well, and all things work for the larger good. However, it's watching and experiencing some of our behaviors at close range that's so hard to bear, and keeps us from keeping that large perspective in mind. I just imagine that it's very hard to be philosophical when watching your child die of starvation and illness because you have no clean drinking water, no food, no place to live, and people are blowing things up all around you to selfishly hoard resources that could feed, shelter, clothe and educate every child on the planet.
The peace I feel comes from being part of an organization that is giving people knowledge and skills to change themselves and to change society and the world simultaneously, reciprocally.

"Earth Mother" has all kinds of things.
There are roses and thorns, herbivores and carnivores, mountains and valleys, medicinal plants and poisonous plants (sometimes they are interchangeable), peaceful rivers and steep waterfalls, sunshine and rain, calm and storm, serene pastures and volcanoes, droughts and floods, health and sickness.
All does not seem to be peaceful. If you mean peace despite all things then it has to be the inner peace that comes from God.

Questions like this just make me crindge...and peeps say Christian/Creationists are flakey. How about you learn from how we are destroying the earth just as Jesus predicted we would and that there won't be any peace until this earth passes away and God makes a brandy new one? Huh? Peace and Love? With God all things are possible...not with this world and the devistation that is in it. Go over to Darfur or Indonesia right now and see if they are finding peace in nature...yeah, harsh right? What's "mother earth" teaching them...? Just like Santa doesn't deliver presents to the third world children...there is no "mother". Just a heavenly Father who seems to be winding things up to a close. Be ready for it. Read His Word. Love in Christ, ~J~
Revelation 11:18
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Might as well ask the Easter Bunny. Just as real. There is no mother earth. God is the creator and controll everything. INteresting that a good day is of mother earth and a hurricane is an "act of God"

ummm...i hate to burst your happy shiny little bubble toots, but the 'peaceful earth mother' you dream of is anything but. anything that is alive must struggle to remain so including mother earth. wake up and take a good look around. life is not peaceful...

Maybe, but I don't think the earth mother is at peace.
Look at all the inclement weather, pollution, global warming, earthquakes, etc...
How are we to learn peace from mother earth when she isn't at peace herself?
