Sometimes, people don't WANT to see things differently, and you can't make them.
Let him know how much it bothers you, and make it clear. DOn't talk to him, don't smile at him, give him the cold shoulder. When he realizes he's not doing anything but pushing his own daughter away, he should come to his senses.
If he doesn't, you know you're the bigger person.
Good luck!

I do not like that "N" word, either. It's demeaning and ugly to say the least. I'm not black, i'm white... and if my child were to choose a black person as their partner, i'd probably have to accept it.
The only problem i have with mixed marriages is the probable issues children which come from the relationship might have... sometimes they are made fun of and put down because they have parents of different colors. That would be my only problem.
Your father probably won't accept this guy ever, by the sounds of it. If you are happy, do what is best for YOU. I wish there were an easier solution, but i dont' see one. You can't change your father's thinking.
hugs

What does your mother think about this? You're a good person because in a lot of cases like this kids usually become racist because they're influenced by there parents. You should get some help from the outside (like another family member or a councilor) to really understand why he's the way he is.
P.S. : Until you resolve your problem with your dad you should really keep you boyfriend away from him!

If your father has no desire to change his attitude towards others of a different race then there is nothing you can do to make him recognize how hateful and ridiculous he is being. I think the only thing you can do is have a heart to heart talk with your father about your feelings concerning this issue. Hopefully then he will at least give your boyfriend a chance to show who he is and it could spark something in your father to change his ways.

well ur dad is extremely closed minded and im sure after time he will either accept it or he will grow farther away. people are resistant to change, im sure after a while when he sees how happy ur man makes u it might change his opinion but for now ur dad is an angry person and it does not stem from u dating a black guy.
