Does anyone think that by going on the date or allowing herself to be auctioned that she does not respect me or our relationship?

If you are sure that the charity event is legit, and any money raised is going to a good cause then I don't think it is a bad thing as long as your GF is in favor of it. The most important thing is to make sure that everything is on the up and up and that your GF will be going to dinner at a well known location. If by chance she were to have to go to dinner with someone she does not know then you may want to have some arrangements such that you know when she is going, where, and when she should be back. It goes without saying that if she is totally uncomfortable with the winner of the auction then she should not go at all.

If you try to stop her from doing this and she feels strongly that she wants to as a way to support a charity she is passionate about it is very apt to cause problems between the two of you.

Look out ... It sounds to me like your girl is testing you ... If you are ok with her doing this - she will say you didn't try to stop her from doing it ... If you object too heavily then you are being controlling .... Plus she might want to see if you would bid on her and if you do how high are you willing to go ... Trust me on this - your being tested ... Tell her how you feel about it - then tell her your going to bid but when you discus the limit for your did make it a good chunk smaller then you would freely hand over - that way when you exceed the bid you disused she will be flattered that you went over your limit ... thus giving you some points out of the whole game... Good Luck

It's a charity auction. Let her go. Don't think so little of her or yourself that you are going to ruin your relationship.

Maybe the charity is really for a good cause, you'll never know. But it all comes down to trust, respect and honesty between you and your girlfriend.

Not a chance even if it is for charity. Maybe you should suggest that it should be done for single people sort of like speed dating for charity

No! Why auction a woman? Women aren't objects to be auctioned.

If she loves you, then let her do what she wants. If you have faith in her and your relationshiop then you souldnt feel threatened by a charity event "play date."
She'll respect you more if You respect HER and show faith in her.
