join an expensive gym. when u shell out a lot of cash, it'll make you go there regularly. if u sign up in some inexpensive gym, you will not feel the pinch if u don't actually use it. also, join a gym with a good trainer. the trainer will also give u good advice on diet ( very important in building up a beefy body), and his proper techniques will also bring quick results. the sooner u start seeing the results, the more motivated you will be to keep going to the gym regularly.

people will tell you to go every other day or work one part of your body one day and another the next day.
Ignore them.
If you want to put on muscle mass aim to go 6 days a week and do as much as you can.
That way if you skive off one or two days in a week due to commitments, u will still be getting enough excercise to make a difference.
If u aim to go 3 times a week you will probably drop down to 2 times a week after a month and then 1 times after 2 etc,

I suggest that you do one or both of these things. One, get in some kinds of class there for instruction and also so you have an appointment to keep. Second, find a partner who wants to do the same and set times that you will get together. The setting of the dates and times gives you a schedule to keep.

Work out a good plan, lots of weights....use the same machines in the same order each time, then you'll get used to what your doing, and not forget anything!
Its tough though...If your thin, you need to do heavier weights and less reps, where as if your big and want to tone, you do more reps and less weights.
Good luck mate...it'll be tough...but you'll do it with a bit of will power!

i would say go and join a gym on your own because if you join with a friend and they cant be bothered to go one day then you wont go. i would keep it quiet and keep it in your head that you are doing it for you. you will need to use weights more than cardio machines as they help you lose weight really.
