if you are NOT going to overtake then leave a gap so the person behind you can get past......!!!!!!!

If there is a big line of traffic behind you pull over and let us all past then you can drive at whatever speed you want?

I usually drive to the speed limit if its safe to do so, having read some of the answers, I wonder if its safe to go out. Next time you see a good smash up most likely caused through speed or impatience have a good look because it might be you next time. I wonder why young people think its clever to speed when any idiot can press an accelerator down. When you have seen a couple of smashed bodies think a little deeper. The wife and kids left behind, your parents, taking up a bed in hospital that could be used by somebody that warrents it. wasting Doctors time Stop being clever learn that driving can be enjoyable and do remember that some people are not as clever as you think you are. I saw a lovely notice once and it said, 'employ a young person while they know everything'

I'm the poor, long suffering prat who has to hang behind the slow idiot on the road because my pick-up can't pick itself up to overtake; its slow, heavy and got the performance of a pregnant elephant!
You should try driving on roads like the A72 or A68...jeez. Takes me all day and half the night just to get past a tractor towing slurry! I really wish we had roads here like they do in America; 100 miles of straight roads and you can see whats coming. I would need at least ten miles for an overtaking manoeuvre!!!

The speed limit is the maximum speed you are permitted to travel, but it may not be safe to go this fast depending on conditions, visibility, traffic etc.

On the other hand if conditions are good driving considerably below the speed limit is not clever either as it encourages overtaking!

this is a huge commentary of persons, in spite of the fact that those are a chosen man or woman persons. those 4 human beings out of the 317 Million in united states of america rather dont teach the making use of behavior of greater beneficial than only those 4. you may make the arguement that statistically Democrats are youthful which in turn could mean that youthful everybody is worse drivers definite yet that could have not something to do with their political association.

I agree people shouldnt be pressured to go over the speed limit by someone sitting right up their tail end. However, if people actually drive at the speed limit, it wouldnt happen as much!

I dont mind sitting behind someone even in a queue IF they are driving at the speed limit. People who dont even make it up to the speed limit are as much of a danger as people who speed!

No it suggests that you feel that you know better than the traffic engineers, police, and accident investigators that established the speed limits.

What is really stupid is when I am in the high speed lane of a three lane highway with a speed limit of 55, doing 65, passing those in the middle lane, and you idiots come up on my bumber and flash your lights.

Just think of it as drafting, it makes it more exciting.

If you wanted to get there so soon, leave earlier!!

These people really annoy me, Ok if they want to stick to the speed limit then good for them, but to drive slower than the speed limit is just daft. Especially if they have pulled out on you, these ignorant people shouldn't have passed their tests, no wonder our insurance premiums go up cos we've ended up hitting the kerb crawlers up the backside. Also most of these drivers never indicate, they just turn left or right without any warning.

No not me.. But I have often been in the queue behind a crawler. And I am 76 and still faster than a lot of others on the road. And safely too. Example yesterday... Lowestoft to Southend -on-sea. 1 hour 45 minutes.
