As long as you can potty train the dog with the area you have then yes. Get your pup and enjoy it.

It won't be a problem, I have an English Bull Terrier puppy in a flat with no garden, like you I have a park behind my flat. Take your puppy to different parks everyday so that you meet a wide range of people and dogs., in this way it can be an advantage not having a big garden, you get out and about so much and your puppy gets plenty of socialisation opportunities. The dog behaviourist who ran the puppy parties we went to said her friend has a husky in a flat with no garden, it's all about your commitment to take them out whatever the weather, most people with gardens still have to let the dog out and supervise it, few have free access.
Bassetts are beautiful, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun! I would highly recommend puppy parties (socialisation groups) by the way, find out about ones in your area from your vet. Good Luck!

A Bassett Hound is fine with the area you have. House Train it, You might consider Crate Training. And plan to walk it about 30 min, twice a day for exercise and potty.

The space is enough, as long as you are prepared to:
1. spend a lot of time playing with the dog and not leave him alone long, or he'll start barking
2. take him on frequent walks(every 2 hours), until he learns to poo only outside, and then take him on long walks, so that he can play and run in the park. You must be at home on time for his walks and perhaps wake up at 6 in the morning, because he may start barking if you are late.
3. Wash him when needed
4. Make sure your garden is safe (fenced).
5. are prepared to clean ypur house a lot more and ready to see some damaged floors or furniture.

With a Basset Hound, yes. But with a larger dog no. Just think about all the responsibility you'll have.
Hope this helps,

it really depends on if you are willing to exercise with him. i dont think bassetts require hours a day. most dogs adapt well to small living quarters -- as long as they have time to exercise.

It's more important if you are willing to commit your time. First year with your pup can be really time demanding.
Best of Luck!!!!!
