Sounds that way.Ran good all day no problems and car quits doing donuts.
Interesting conspiracy theory. This would not have been the first time this type event happened. The most notorious event was when Darrell Waltrips car blew as it crossed the starting line after winning the first allstar race, owner Junior Johnson just grinned and said" no comment"
So planned-Conspiracy theorist-yes.
Just over reved the car doing donuts-YES.
Your choice.

I really doubt it. If I won a Nextel Cup race, I'd do more than just blow the motor up.. I'd be aiming to blow the tires out, probably knock the front fenders off of it, and then blow the motor up. That'd be a memorable victory lane picture. I always loved how Terry Labontes car looked after that Bristol night race he won, even though he got punted into the wall by Earnhardt Sr coming out of turn 4. Sittin' in victory lane w/ a smashed up front end.. Gotta love it.

Oh yes, of course, absolutely because after all his nervous freaking out about the car before the win, He put all the excitement and emotion aside to calmly and rationally remember that his car couldn't pass inspection, better blow it up. He doesn't drive for Hendrick, get serious.

Post race inspection includes disassebling the motor, drivetrain, suspension, fuel system & driver compartment. If there was/is any discrepancies they will be reported and the appropriate action taken. Conspiracy theories aside, he did a hell of a job driving.

But remember jj's chief chad got busted in the beginning of the season and suspended, I think over springs or shocks.

Nope, it still has to go thru inspections....Hey this guy was on cloud 9, it was his first win, he was so excited and i listened to him on track pass the last 15 laps, he was a nervous wreck himself,he just knew something was going to happen, he was driving so fast so hard, it was great to see that burn out if it were me I'd probably blown the tires out as well, it was his first win let him celebrate..Great job Clint...if he wins the championship, he'll probably do a even better job, but they better have 911 on stand by for him..

I doubt it. I think Clint Bowyer was pumped with so much adrenaline he just fried his engine while burning up his tires. The inspection is a joke anyway. There's so many things you could do to an engine that the inspectors couldn't even see, unless they disassembled the engine and used test equipment. Like how are they going to know what type of metals were used to make the connecting rods, if they're shaved for higher RPM's. How do they know if the heads have been milled to get more compression. You can drop pellets into the fuel tank to get higher octane. The list goes on and on. I bet HMS technicians know the best of tricks to evade inspection. I don't think his car died to avoid inspection. I think it just shows that Clint Bowyer couldn't have held out for a full 500 miles. His car wouldn't have made it. Clint Boyer and his machine came to it's epitome. But then again, you can never predict racing. You can try, but nobody wants to lose.

The guy was a nervous wreck the last thirty laps or so. His crew chief and even Harvick (who had been lapped) had to calm him down. He whooped and hollered when he took his checkered flag, and did his burn out. His crew chief laughed, and I was even laughing at how excited this guy was. He filled the grandstands up with smoke! I think he was just so darn excited, that he blew up his motor. Honestly, I thought it was a good time, and probably the most exciting thing about the whole race which was pretty dull. I'm sure he will never forget it, and even take some ribbing over it in the years to come.

Oh my God, Give the guy a break. It was his first ever race. He was so very happy. Im sure he blew it because he was throught the stars. Let the kid have his win, He will be ribbed enough by other drivers for a while. Im sure if it were abny of you you would blow the engine accidently too. I know I sure would too.

I think he just got so excited about his first win that inspections or anything else were the furtherest thing from his mind...he was just going for the moment and doing the burnouts caused it to blow...
