Edit: Geniuses are qualified as such because they can evolve their thinking into higher levels, developing their thoughts and processes. People incapable of communicating their genius might as well be us drivers.

Nope. If I did, how would people judge me? Besides, it's the heart that matters, not how well they can spell. :)

I'll have an unpopular answer, but I'm going to say yes, at least to a point.

Grammar can be learned -- it is not an innate ability. So, I do judge people's abilities in certain areas on their grammar. If I'm looking to hire a professional, you can bet his/her grammar WILL be judged.

If I'm looking for a friendship, it really doesn't matter.

Sometimes I do...But you know...I'm from Naples...where many people mistake with the local dialect...and very often my judgement is not completely wrong...but a friend of mine is really smart althought he has some problems in speaking...you know...he can't explain really really good...Anyways...grammar skills are important indeed...they make you understand something about a person tho...

No, it would be as silly as judging someone by their mechanical skills or their athletic ability.
