18Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen, vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his unspiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit,

Yes, Mr Allen T. It goes along with what Is spoken of In the following scripture: ll Timothy 3:1-10. I think all these things apply here In these last days. There will be many false prophets/teachers... Preach sermons that tickle the ears of the congregation (paraphrased). Making the word of God of no effect.

Colossians 2:8, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

Colossians 2:18, "Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,"

The concept behind this entire chapter of scripture is that we are not to be deceived into traditions of men, worshipping angels and relying on man's wisdom instead of Gods.

We have been given a complete grace through Jesus Christ our Lord --we have been established by grace and called to the works God wants us to do--not what man would require of us.

Man's ways and God's ways are being compared and contrasted and this is ALWAYS applicable no matter what age we are in.
