It really means he is not ready for a relationship, thats pretty much it.... guys tend to be real basic and straight forward.

BY SAYING THAT HE WAS TRYING NOT TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS.he said that meaning that he does not want to be with you.also he is probably young and at that age most guys do not want to be in relationships.GIRLS ARE MORE MATURE THAN GUYS.thats why its mostly girls that do not understant why guys are this way.but if he does not want to be with you oh well. there are way more guys that will be in your life down the road so dont dwell on one guy
