One of our biggest ties to the past is our sense of smell and food ties right in there. I love the smell of home made yeast rolls cooking in a fall oven with pot roast bubbling on the back burner.

I have so many. How about the smell of my granny's deep dish apple pie? Let's see, pumpkin pie, pecan pie. Nice big pot of chicken gumbo. Yeast rolls were my favorite too! Granny used to make them from scratch. Of course no one cooked chicken and dumplings like my little southern granny! I always loved her cornbread too! My little northern granny made the best chicken soup in the world!

Baked Pumpkin Pie...real fresh, right out of the oven...That's what fall smells like to me.

A fireplace when I'm outside raking leaves.Pie baking in oven,bacon cooking,cookies,turkey roasting in the oven...the list could go on.
