He is a Japanese spitz, a little over a year old and recently he just stopped eating. He will drink (cold) water, and then just spend the entire day sleeping or just lieing. So what I do is just mix some soluble food into his water (like a dextrose) just so food can enter his body. But what is really bothering me is that he keeps on vomitting, and there has been a change in the color and texture of his stool. I went to the vet and she told me that the dog has amoeba. She gave me some prescription which I did follow but to no effect. Please help! He's the only companion I have and I don't want to lose him!

Look! If the meds the vet prescribed didn't help, what do you think would be a wise thing to do next?? GO BACK TO THE VET.

If the vet doesn't hear from you, s/he'll assume the meds worked and that all is well. How can they help you if you don't keep them informed?

No one on here has a clue what is wrong with your dog. You need to go back to the vet who's examined him, got it? And listen more carefully next time, because 'has amoeba' doesn't mean anything. I think you mean he had a bacterial infection and you were given antibiotics.

WHEN will people stop posting medical questions on here?!?

First of all, I think you should take him to the vet again to be examined, because the first diagnose could be wrong, since the prescription didn't work, or it could be that he just needs a new one.

If he keeps vomiting, you should consider the possibility that he's allergic to something, and bring the possibility to your vet. I once knew a dog that was a allergic to milk, and he kept vomiting every thing he ate. Dogs are pretty much like small children where illnesses and allergies are concerned.

Take him back to the vet or just let him lay there and die. You claim to love him so much but yet do not seem to be doing all you can for him. The problem is not going to go away on its own... that is until he dies frpm lack of vet care.

Take that poor dog back to the vets immediately, why would you let him suffer like this?
