Read Leviticus 20:13. This says gay people should be put to death.

That isn't to say that God did not have the death penalty for other sins in the time of Moses, but you have to remember that it was a different time. Moses led slaves who did not listen.

Jesus did come and change this so that we may be forgiven. The Lord so loved the world that he gave his only son, but it doesn't change the fact that being gay is deviant behavior.

Being gay is a sin and if we continue to act like it's nothing, then that only encourages them. They have a sickness. We need to reach out and help them.

Only we acknowledge the evil of their sins can we help them.

That isn't to say that we do not have evil sins too. We all deserve to burn but God loves us so he provides a plan to wash away our sins.

Everyone has sin, but it does not help people struggling with being gay if we sit back and do nothing. They need help.

Agree?

Science and the medical field agrees that some people are born gay. Their hormones are opposite from their gender.

If the old testament is taken literally, then we will never gain heaven and burn in hell and should die ourselves for our first sin and all of the ones after it.

If we truly believe in Jesus we know he said; don't condemn
( Our Father ) but forgive.

I think some people do try to become gay because of peer influence. Some may give up being heterosexual because of being hurt in a relationship. If someone does not have a chance to meet someone of the opposite sex or they feel they don't look the roll of their sex, this may be a contributing factor too! I personally think a very dominant parent may play a part in this development too!

We should do nothing to them but pray for their pain and leave condemnation up to God. I do not condemn the gay person but their lifestyle, if practiced, is not for me.

Hi John .This is similar to your other question about being gay. And you still don't get the message. Being gay is not a sickness. You do not choose your sexual orientation. You can not change your sexual orientation. It is given to you by God.You are the one who is sinning by putting a label on people. You are the one who needs help. Please go and see a Psychiatrist and get yourself straightened out before you get worse.

EDIT....Some of the other Answerers have got it wrong also.
You do not choose your sexual orientation.Being gay is not a sin. If God intended for everyone to be heterosexual ,He would have made them that way ,but He did not.I think a lot of gay people hate being the way they are especially if they are Christian and would do anything to change, but they can't. They have to carry this cross for the rest of their lives but God will reward them when the time is right. Are "normal" people carrying a cross also?

individually, i'm a huge fan of Thessalonians 2, verse 12 -- this is no longer anti-gay or something like that, yet talks approximately condemning human beings, so this is cool. This states that folk who have self assurance lies are going to Hell. So... the record of those going to Hell occurs to incorporate the persons who informed me to study the Bible interior the 1st place. candy, candy irony...

I'll agree it goes against Biblical teaching, but this is why so many Christians are vehement about accepting homosexuality as inherently born in a person. You're stuck defending a position that all mounting evidence refutes. But since belief is more powerful than fact, you're forced to do anything to contort facts so they don't challenge your beliefs. And once the proof is undeniable.. well, who am I kidding, no matter how obvious the facts become, they'll always be deniable...

People are born gay. Don't you think that as hard as life can be for someone gay that if they could choose not to be gay and make their life easier, the would do it? I am not gay and I am a religious person (Jewish) but I think the evidence is overwhelming that the vast majority were born gay (I do know some will say they made the choice so I will exclude that portion which I think is very small). What does not help someone who is gay is saying they have a sickness. They don't. They are born a way that society does not accept.
If you accep that portion of the Torah literally "man shall not lie with another man" then female homosexuality is ok?
Most people see that as anal sex between two straight men and even though the Torah said they may be put to death, Rabbinic law held they were lashed.
There are organizations for "recovering gays" but I believe these are people who chose to be gay for whatever reason and were not born that way.
Yes, gays need help. They are not accepted in our society and we need to do that. Those who are born gay need to be accepted for who and what they are and those who choose to be gay need understanding for the underlying cause of that choice (which not doubt makes life very hard for them in our society).

It is not gay people who need help. Clearly YOU need help. Some education would help. Some counselling from a non-religious counsellor would help. Ignoring just about everything in the bible would help, especially Leviticus, which is downright madness.
Homosexuality is a natural process and is seen amongst many life-forms. Just accept the fact that you are 'normal' and live your life, leaving others to lead theirs in whichever way they please within the parameters of the civil laws.
Gay people are not harming you. Live and let live?

So you decided to be straight? Did you also CHOSE to love your parents? Or your friends?

Do you know how stupid this looks to try to say one group of people CHOSE to do something YOU didn't chose to do? Quit trying to justify ostracizing a group of people because you don't like the type of sex they are having.... it's pathetic.

You have a sickness as well.... it's called Hate and you're using your Loving religion to try to cover it up and make it look like you are helping people... when all you are doing is making things worse.

Leviticus is telling YOU to go out and kill... the Bible also states "thou shalt not Kill" and you want us to listen to this justification??? So YOU can attack a group of people while saying "but I'm helping". Are you truly that blind??????

I would be pretty critical of anything coming out of a book written by people that thought the sun revolved around the earth. But then again, that's just me.

Nowadays, though, we have a really cool concept called science. It's amazing advances are actually facilitating your public displays of stupidity. Super cool stuff, that science.

So Leviticus is valid? Because I keep hearing that its not. Do you follow the rest of the laws set out in Leviticus? Do you stone rebellious teens to death? Do you perform wave offerings? Do you eat shrimp, because if you do, you will surely go to hell? Shrimp are an abomination in the eyes of god! And why aren't you forcing young virgins to marry their rapists? These are all laws laid out, by god, in Leviticus.
