Jesus is not Michael the Archangel. The Bible nowhere identifies Jesus as Michael (or any other angel for that matter). Hebrews 1:5-8 draws a clear distinction between Jesus and the angels, “For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be His Father, and He will be my Son"? And again, when God brings His firstborn into the world, He says, "Let all God's angels worship Him." In speaking of the angels He says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire." But about the Son He says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.” Angels worship Jesus. The angels are called sons of God (Genesis 6:2-4; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7), but Jesus is THE Son of God (Hebrews 1:8; Matthew 4:3-6).

The Watchtower is quick to say that Michael means 'who is like God' but does not provide all the facts. The name Gabriel means 'high angel in rank'. The Strong's Dictionary defines Michael as an archangel [Strong's# 3413] and Gabriel as an archangel [Strong's# 1043]. The fact is that just because Michael is called an archangel does not mean that there are no other archangels. [Daniel 10:13] When you look at Jude verse 9 a few things need to be understood. If Jesus and Michael are the same here, then why would Jesus have to say "the Lord rebuke you" when He rebuked demons on several occasions without using the Lord's name? Jesus could rebuke demons without using the Lord's name because Jesus is the Lord and Michael is not! Michael in this verse is shown to be the opposite of what the Watchtower teaches concerning his identity and authority.

JR,LOL...are you serious? Since JW's are the group that makes the assertion about God's name being removed you basically said "the WTBTS wrote the NWT, so the NWT proves the WTBTS is right. Since the WTBTS is right the NWT is right." The Watchtower can't say the NWT is right so that he NWT can back up Watchtower arguments! That's just silly,JR.

I'm not normally in the business of adding confusion to confusion, but perhaps the JWs need to have this pointed out to them.
They are not the only ones to have adamant views on who Michael the Archangel is. JWs say he is Jesus Christ. The Mormons say Michael the Archangel is Adam, who is also the Ancient of Days, our God. Now that's what I call REALLY confusing. But that's what their prophet Brigham Young said. He also said in his sermon of 9 April 1852, after expounding this doctrine, that it would determine people's salvation or damnation, according to how they took it. It was to be viewed as scripture.
JWs know what their Governing Body says about believing their teachings and attitudes to themselves - how it will determine whether JWs go into everlasting cutting off, or not. (Watchtower 1 August 1981 p26) And all JWs MUST believe that Jesus is the Archangel, Michael. They MUST weaken Hebrews 1:8 by translating 'worship' as 'do obeisance to'. But when the Bible is 'allowed' to say what it says, then Jesus cannot possibly be a created being - he is the Creator!

I agree with you. I find Jehovah's Witnesses' doctrine very interesting. I had heard that they do not believe Jesus is God, but I was somewhat flabbergasted when I realized they really think Jesus was Michael the archangel. They teach that Jehovah name of the one true God, corresponds only to God the Father. And as they believe that Jesus is an angel, Michael, they deny the Holy Spirit is a person, and instead teach He is merely God's active force, analogous to electricity.

whilst there is not any fact interior the Bible that categorically identifies Michael the archangel as Jesus, there is one scripture that hyperlinks Jesus with the place of work of archangel. In his letter to the Thessalonians, the apostle Paul prophesied: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and people who're lifeless in union with Christ will upward thrust first.” (a million Thessalonians 4:sixteen) in this scripture Jesus is defined as having assumed his means as God’s Messianic King. yet, he speaks with “an archangel’s voice.” be conscious, too, that he has the means to develop the lifeless. whilst in the international as a human, Jesus carried out countless resurrections. In doing so, he used his voice to utter commanding calls. for example, while resurrecting the lifeless son of a widow interior the city of Nain, he stated: “youthful guy, I say to you, arise!” (Luke 7:14, 15) Later, purely until now resurrecting his chum Lazarus, Jesus “cried out with a noisy voice: ‘Lazarus, come on out!’” (John 11:40 3) yet on those activities, Jesus’ voice replaced into the voice of a perfect guy. After his own resurrection, Jesus replaced into raised to a “enhanced place” in heaven as a spirit creature. (Philippians 2:9) now no longer a human, he has the voice of an archangel. So while God’s trumpet sounded the call for “people who're lifeless in union with Christ” to be raised to heaven, Jesus issued “a commanding call,” this time “with an archangel’s voice.” it extremely is lifelike to end that purely an archangel might call “with an archangel’s voice.” particular, there are different angelic creatures of intense rank, alongside with seraphs and cherubs. (Genesis 3:24; Isaiah 6:2) yet, the Scriptures factor to the resurrected Jesus Christ through fact the supervisor of all angels—Michael the archangel.

Abaddon (Hebrew) means Destruction.
Apollyon (Greek) means Destroyer.
Who is it that is going to destroy the wicked and Christendom?
"And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness." Rev. 19: 11
"Michael and his angels battled with the dragon..." Rev. 12:7-9)
Michael means "Who is Like God?" Archangel means "chief of the angels".
"The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an ARCHANGEL'S voice and with God's trumpet." (1 Thess. 4:16)
"Michael and his angels" Jude 9
"the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with HIS powerful angels" 2 Thess. 1:7
"and then the sign of the Son of man, will appear in heaven....And he will send forth HIS angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together ..." Matt 24: 30-31
"When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will set down on his glorious throne." Matt 25: 31

There is only one Archangel, not one of many Archangels.
You're obviously taking Hebrews 1:5 out of context to prove no Angel was ever called a son of God, when it fact many Angels have been called son(s) of God.
Theres also many Hebrew 1:6 translations, and they all don't say let all angels do worship to him. To find out which translation is correct, we have to see who Jesus told us to worship.
Matthew 4:10
Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
Lord your God?
Since Jehovah's name was taken out of the New Testament, its hard for many to see who Jesus was referring to. But since Jesus was talking about the Old Testament, we can find this scripture.
Deuteronomy 5:9
9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me
Based on Matthew and Deuteronomy, Jesus will never asked to be worshiped to, nor will Jehovah allow anyone else to do worship to him.
Hebrews 1:6 (Holy Bible)
And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith: And let all the angels of God adore him.
==Jude 25==
Jesus was not the one who rebuked Satan, it was God Almighty himself.
==Micheal==
Before Jesus went to Heaven, all angels were made in subjection to Jesus, and Jesus was given authority over all the Angels (1 Peter 3:22)
Matthew chapter refers to the Son of man and HIS Angels (Matthew 13:41, 24:31). Paul refers to them as Jesus' powerful angels. (2 Thessalonians 1:7)
In Revelation Chapter 12, it talks about Micheal and HIS angels waging war against Satan and his Demons
Revelation 12:7-8
7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
See that Christ/Archangel has the power to raise the dead... only Jesus was given that authority, not anyone else.
The scriptures couldn't be any more clear who the Archangel is.
Greg M.
You obviously ignored my post and said something completely different. Its not new because you have been doing that every time I answer you questions. All Bible researchers say Gods name was removed in the NT, and the proof of that is when the Matthew, Jesus ect, quoted the OT, along with having proof of old fragments.

When did this watchtower appear? I think the only authority belongs to the mother church wich is ortodox or catholic..If they din't like their priests it doesn't mean that they are free to make a new cult out of their incomplete study and experince. The sacrifice and the miracles that God did with the ortodox saints for all the planet to see..cannot be replaced with watchtower..an incomplete and subjective study over the bible of a rebelious christian..dating back in time..what year?
well i think they take advantage because they are free in america and can say things..the old ortodox church couldn't say because of comunism....but their dogma is very wrong.Jesus is not an angel is a God...obeyed to God the Father..from a point of view we are all children of God..but none of us except Jesus is also a God..because none of us have lived from eternity and none of us can create a world, can transform water in wine or can resurect a dead person
God give you joy..

Jesus is God. Michael is an angel. JW's teach a different gospel than that wich was preached.
Gal.1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Trinitarians are compelled to try and explain away the fact that the Scriptures present Michael the Archangel as acting in the capacity and office that only belongs to Christ.
Obviously, if Christ is an angel then he can't be God-the-son, as they wrongly assume. So, they are forced to use tortured reasoning at every opportunity to make the Scriptures say what they want them to say. Actually, by doing so, they betray their abject ignorance of the truth.
On the question of Hebrews 1:5, the Trinitarians would have us to believe that because the LORD never singled out one of his angelic sons, by saying to him: "You are my son; I, today, have become your father," that God must have therefore been talking to himself and conferring sonship upon the supposedly already existing other third of the eternal, triune godhead! Could anything be more absurd?
The answer to Paul's question, "to which one of the angels did God ever say You are my son?" is as simple as it is profound.
The answer is that Jehovah never honored any angel as such. But he did confer sonship upon the man—Jesus Christ.
That's the point Paul was making, and it is made clear in the context of Hebrews 1-2. For example in Hebrews 2:5, Paul goes on to say: "For it is not to angels that he has subjected the inhabited earth to come, about which we are speaking."
Paul then quotes the 8th Psalm, indicating that man was originally made a little lower than the angels. After pointing out the obvious fact that because of sin, mankind has not fulfilled the divine mandate given to Adam to have the earth in subjection, Paul then points out that Christ Jesus, as the Last Adam, also became a little lower then the angels, and that he was crowned with glory and honor for having suffered such an inglorious death.
Thereby Jesus, by reason of his humanity, inherited the right to subjugate the earth to himself, as Adam's replacement. The point Paul was making was that God exalted a man above the angels!
Philippians 2:7 makes it clear that in order for Jesus to become a man he completely divested himself of his heavenly nature. Jesus was no god-man; no demigod; no materialized archangel. Jesus was a mere man, albeit a perfect one. And as such Jehovah anointed him to become a spirit son again upon his death as a man.
Act 13:33 "he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: " 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father.'

I suppose in a pantheistic way you could say that "all is one" and therefore Jesus and Michael are the same, or come from the same source...but it's a bit of stretch because the same logic can be used to say that puppies and ice cream are the same.
