The Bible states that we should loan money with no expectations of getting it back. However, if you loan your child money almost every month, is it a sin to ask for some of the money? Ask but not insist, is that the way? EACH MONTH IT IS AGREED TO BE PAID BACK WITHIN A COUPLE WEEKS. It is just so hard to say "no."

If you're asking but not insisting then you're not expecting to get it back, you're only hoping you do. That sounds to me like it's in line with loaning without expectation of getting it back.

By the way, can I borrow $5?

If you have loaned money to your child, that means the child is an adult and capable of assuming his responsibilities. To ask that the loan be paid back gradually isn't a sin,if anything you teach that adult to stand on his own two feet, which is precisely your function as a parent.Don't feel guilty, put your foot down, you worked hard for that money and no one is handing out any freebies.I believe it's called tough love.

Never loan what you can not live without. Let your child know that the well is going dry and what ever they pay back will go into a pot for the next time they need it.

I don't know which bible your reading but I am sure in there somewhere it says about repaying as well.
Their your childen they are going to take everything you offer. Learn to say no and like I tell my children of you want something, " get a job." I am assuming your children aren't young. The more you give the more people take.

No, it isn't a sin to ask for money. If a person is up against it, there isn't any harm in asking. If money is owed to you. Again, it's not a sin to ask for a little of it back.

With all due respect. Perhaps there are lessons the child must still be taught. There is no one in a better position to be the teacher.

Don't loan your child any more money if he/she is taking advantage of you.
You are not helping; you are teaching your child poor values.
Your job is to help your child to grow up to be independent. You are not doing that.

If anybody made an agreement, it is good to follow otherwise many problems will come. if any one forgive others because of their inability to do so, the blessings from God is in abundance.
