Yesterday whilst out shopping I nearly treated myself to a magazine, but then thought I have far too much to do at home.....then last night I dreamt my late mother gave me a magazine..not the cheapish 60pence one I normally buy but a posh thick one 'marie claire' to be precise. Any ideas on the meaning of this dream if any... thanks in advance and have a wonderful day.

Your late mother seems to bring you an important message--people treat you as you treat yourself--how are you treating you?; You deserve an occasional 'Marie Claire' treatment--allow yourself to be pampered. Life is about giving, but empty vessels can't give. A food for thought, please meditate or day-dream on your dream's message. Be well.

Maybe your dream mum is trying to tell you that you need to spend some time to nurture yourself, and relax more....you have so much to do, that you consider spending a half hour enjoying a magazine to be a treat, try to find a little time for yourself. Women in particular feel they have to be all things to all people, and tend to put off thier own nurturing for being too busy nurturing others. It's hard to look at all the stuff that needs to be done, and justify taking some time off, but if you take a half hour to enjoy yourself, you might find the rest of the day goes more smoothly, because you feel a little better rested.... Mother is a symbol for "nurturing", and you chose a symbol for luxury for her to give you, and it would seem that a little time spent with a magazine is a "luxury" to you...

This dream seems to indicate you see your mother as a provider and a caring person. In the dream she knows what you want and gives it to you.

I must ask, how did you feel? Did you feel pleased with your mum, or angry that she got it for you?

You must consider your feelings in dreams. They will help you to understand and extract the meaning for yourself.

If you were pleased with your mum and happy, perhaps you need to ask yourself: A) how do i see my mother? B) what qualities did my mum have in the dream, and do i think i have any of those qualities? C) what was the significance of the magazine? if my mum gave my a cheaper magazine, would i still have felt happy? *In the case of being pleased with the magazine, it is likely the dream was telling you that you can treat yourself to a nice magazine (or general luxury) now and then, that you can still be a "good provider" for yourself :)

If you were angry/ resentful with your mother, the dream might reflect your struggle with finances - your mother represents the older woman with more money - the one you wish you were and the magazine representative of something you want to get for yourself.

Having always been a big believer in "the Other Side" I am inclined to believe that your mother came through to you with a gift she thought you would both appreciate as well as a visit for her daughter. On the flip side of that you can also say that if your mother was alive you knew she would have bought you that "posh" magazine and that it was sub-conscious wishful thinking.

There is more than one meaning. 1. you miss your mother 2. your mother is in the dream to make you remember the dream 3. you deserve some more enjoyment than you have been allowing yourself. This is advice that your mother would approve of.
