Wow - maybe he just needs a translator to get the full jist of what it is you are saying!
It sounds like you are saying you are in a love with a colleague on the tennis courts, and that he is never going to be anything more than a friend. if this is the case try to immerse yourself in something where you DO stand a chance of meeting someone you can have a real relationship with, instead of hankering after something you can never have.
Ring the local gay and lesbian group in your area and see what social events they have coming up in the next weeks.
make new friends, put it out there amongst people who may also be seeking the same thing as you.
Also try swapping tennis partners with someone else in your club.

That would give me the BIG creeps if a good friend of mine of the same sex started to hit on me, its not right, I would dump the friend right away, its sinful.
