Yes and no. It is considered the highest of love. But even the gopies who are the purest amongst the devotees of the Lord would not say it is sweet. They will say it is so painful to be away from Krishna. But at the same time it is the sweetest pain. This is a very high topic and not meant for mundane wranglers and so many rascals on Yahoo. This knowledge is only for the pure bhaktas, as it is stated in the Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. (confidential knowledge)Certain things they just will not be able to even get a glimpse of due to their sinful nature. But thank you.

Being separated from the Lord is torture to most Christians. It is good that He has promised to never leave us. True Christians have a longing to be with the Lord. We do not put our stock in this world or the things in it. We strive to build our treasures in heaven! The soul always wants to be home with the Lord! If one were separated from God it would not be "sweet"!

A separation from the lord? Becoming atheist? I don't think it's really painful or sweet. It's just a realization and mentality of certain people.

How can it be a sweet pain to be sepearted from the LORD?

Every moment that we spend being seperated from HIM is the waste of that particular life span.

Never consider yourself separate from Lord, he resides within you, ignorance of this fact makes one forget his true nature and thus makes him estranged from the Lord. And if you are referring to the separation felt by Gopis and Gopikas of Vrindavan for Lord Krishna, this was because Lord Krishna had spent his childhood with them at Vrindavan as a part of his Leela.

Separation is possible, only if we had Him at least once. Did we really have Him ever?

I don't experience any sweet pain for this reason.
