I am currently in a relationship with a guy who lives in another state. In the past 6 months I've visited him twice. Both times I have returned home I have had this dream; it is always the first night I am back home. My dream is Im in my bedroom; everything looks completely the same as it is when I go to bed that night. Im asleep then I awake; I cant breathe & everytime I try to talk I cant. I also have trouble moving; like Im stuck. The first couple of times I dreamt this; I culdnt move myself at all. But the last fews time I have had this dream; I have struggled my way across my bed to the floor. The only thing Im thinking about is getting to my bedroom door to get to my sister for help but I never seem to make it that far. I continuously gasp for air while trying to talk & move. Nothing changes. The last time I had this dream; I dreamt the exact same thing; then I felt as though I had woken up..I really felt awake & the same thing was happening. I woke to find I had dreamt it twice

***As far as sleep paralysis goes, meh - i don't think so. Whenever i have experienced what you are describing, i was really in a unharmonized place psychically.

Long distance relationships are difficult at the best of times, so i understand this will concern you. When you get home after seeing him, how do you feel. Do you miss him? Do you want to reach out to him, but he is not there. I think the issue here is that every time you see him again, you reignite the connection and when you leave you feel severed. You can't just tell him about your day (even over the phone that night, it loses spontaniety), you can't squeeze his hand, or cuddle him when you get to bed. You are sort of in limbo, unable to communicate your desires when you want to - which i think the dream is really showing you.

Next time you visit him and come home, take some time to meditate on the day and perhaps write him a letter/ write in your diary about the day, so that you release that energy. Tell yourself you accept the situation you are in and say "we're going to be okay". Then if you have the dream again, try to become aware and once you feel you are in control, just relax. Don't fight it. Don't try to get up and get help. You don't NEED help. You are in control and it's okay. Accept that you are in this space. The acceptance in both waking and dream life will stop this dream reoccurring.

i don't know why you get that when you are from you boyfriend's place.

anyhow this challenge you are having is common to most people.it is a sleep disorder called SLEEP PARALYSIS associated with narcolespy.
this might be the results of sleeping while you have unresolved issues

from my spiritual point of view:this is an evil sprit and needs one to pray and i'd advise you to try to find out what your boyfriend is all about. if you do sleep with him it might be that you are getting this from him(unclean spirit)

personal testimony: after loosing my best friend i got ill and it was the same illness as hers and i used to experience what you are experienceng where by i'll be awake but i cant move nor sream for help.but i kept on praying until i could tell the devil that it not my time yet to die.
but just relax and make sure you sleep on time with an clear mind it will go away

It could be sleep paralysis, but I have to wonder about it, that it seems to be triggered by this relationship. Take a look at your situation, and see if you can find a reason, it could be a couple of things. It could be that this guy is overpossesive or suffocating to you, and not a good match, or it could be that whatever circumstances are keeping you apart could be the source of your suffocation, if you feel "free" when you go to visit him, but you are stuck living far away due to circumstances beyond your control, perhaps that is the source of these feelings, and the return home signals a temporary end to your freedom until your next visit, and triggers this dream of paralysis and suffocation..

hi, I learn from my own reports and for my section a re-occuring dream is something 'unfinished'. it must be unfinished as in -incomplete' or something the place you probably did no longer %. the hint up interior the dream before so yet another and yet another is needed until you do see what you're meant to. it extremely is generally something the two troubling you, or previous unforgotten as in 'unaccepted' or something needed or feared for the destiny. in one re-occuring dream, I stored going back until I had created exchange, I had replaced something and this replaced into giving me a feeling of exchange required in my existence. think of correct to the situations interior the dream, emotions and the end result, then learn on your existence. The deeper you dig the extra you will locate yet soul finding will help the solutions to alter into obvious. good success and God Bless xxx

You experienced what doctors call-- isolated sleep paralysis--in the dream work we call it--a lucid dream about paralysis. If it reoccurs, try to relax and work with affirmations--for example, I am going to wake up soon and everything is going to be fine--don't struggle, practise deep breathing till you relax and regain movement. Also, please have your doctor rule out a sleep disorder, before you meditate or day dream. Recurrence of your dream reminds you to take care of this unresolved issue. Be well.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To dream of oxygen, symbolizes life, your inner spirit, and creative energy. To dream that you do not have enough oxygen, suggests that you are feeling suffocated or smothered by a situation in your life.

Maybe you're just tired of the travel plus the stress of being away from each other and the worries concerning your relation whether it will survive the long distance.

This may not be relavent but you really should chech the meaning of your dreams. And like you linked - maybe visiting your bf and dreams are connected. In my experience you really should think about your fears. You should do it honestly and without judging. Usually our dreams are showing what we are too afraid to see and we hide it in our subconscious or we just do not want to listen to ourselves. Good luck with researching your dreams!
