Why is losing virginity considered as an adolescent or adulthood initiation rite?

Losing your virginity is not an initiation into adulthood. Keep your virginity until you are reasonably sure you've found a man worthy of surrendering your virginity to.

i think that is so wrong whoever thinks that way must get their life sorted.....loosing virginity is not a game any1 can play and neither is it upto any1 else to make the decsion for another person its a personal choice which once made can never be reversed.....
