I Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, recieved up into glory."

Right there is your proof, once again, that God was manifested into the flesh, was is why I say Jesus was God in the flesh. If you have this scripture in your bible how can you deny it? There are many more verses but this one I recently found.

Who is "The Word"? John 1:14 (Jesus)
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and te Word was with God, and the Word was God." hmmmmmmmmm

Once again, ye babes in christ, SCRIPTURE INTERPRETS SCRIPTURE, also so you don't get confused I am not ccalling Jesus a prophet, he is my Lord and saviour. I don't care about your scripture that you think Jesus says he is not God, because you are misinterpreting it. How can you have this one scripture that clearly points out that he was God in the flesh, and have this other scripture that could mean different things. Therefore letting the clear scripture interpret the other.

In the Christian faith, the divinity of Jesus was a contentious issue for centuries. Many worshippers insisted on complete divinity for Jesus, and others on complete humanity They didn't really sort out a standard view until the fourth and fifth century AD, and we now have the question which bedevils many Sunday schools: Jesus is human AND fully divine.

So, the passage you quote is indeed accurate. But be aware that there were many other writings of the early Church which asserted the exact opposite. They just didn't make the cut into the New Testament that is used today.

The New Testament slowly took form over a few centuries, but by 367 or so we had it in its current form. Christianity would then wait about 100 more years before the doctrine of hypostatic union (the notion that Jesus was a fusion of God and man) became official.

I'm not Pagan and my name isn't Dan. I'm a Christian named Doug, and "pagan dan" is Chinese for "bacon and eggs". I live in Taiwan.

I know you mean well, and so do the other answerers, but I wish you guys would lay off the Bible-thumping. You delude yourselves if you think you will bring anyone to Jesus with your naive evangelism. You are NOT meeting ANYONE's need to see the Light and be saved--you are just meeting your own need to be evangelists.

Jesus said, "Pick up your cross, and follow me". If you really want to bring people home to Jesus, where you and I think they belong--you will try selfless devoted sacrificing service to others. You will live clean and decent lives, as our Lord commands. Then, people will "see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven". Sorry, I forget the Bible reference for that.

You do harm, with your Bible-thumping. Trust me. There would be nowhere near as many atheist smart-alecs asking disrespectful and hurtful questions about our Lord in Yahoo Answers, if you would at least entertain the possibility that I may be right.

You are correct. Jesus was God manifested in flesh. We were all made in the image of God, and therefore, we are all God manifested in flesh. Jesus never said that he was the son of God. He always called himself the son of Man. And he said that we would do the things that he had done and even greater things. The Bible also says that Jesus quoted Asaph from the Psalms - "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?"

That would depend upon how you understand the word Prophet or Manifestation of God. I use these words to refer to those universal educators who appear from age to age to bring new teachings in the form of holy scriptures/writings/words from God which transform individuals and societies and carry forward an ever-advancing civilization. I don't use it to mean a wise, insightful, charismatic follower of one of the universal educators.

These extraordinary beings are One and All the same spirit, and manifest the same fundamental reality, though they appear in diverse attire at different times in history.

Christ was not just a prophet or an ordinary man, especially spiritually. He belonged to the special category of Manifestation of God, as did Krishna, Moses, Zoraoster, Buddha, Muhammad, The Bab, and Baha'u'llah. For all intents and purposes, as far as humanity is concerned, they are God, and at the same time not the Essence of God, as God is Himself, single, alone, and all else is his creation. We can see that popular, current interpretations differ over this point regarding Christ.

"Completely relinquishing all DharmAs, seek Me alone for refuge. I will release you from all sins. Grieve not".

"Whenever there is a decline of Dharma and rise of evil, I will incarnate from time to time to preserve dharma , to protect the Virtuous and to uproot the evil."

"... those who, renouncing all actions in Me, and regarding Me as the Supreme, worship Me... For those whose thoughts have entered into Me, I am soon the deliverer from the ocean of death and transmigration, Arjuna. Keep your mind on Me alone, your intellect on Me. Thus you shall dwell in Me hereafter."

"Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, offer service to Me, bow down to Me, and you shall certainly reach Me. I promise you because you are My very dear friend."

"All paths lead to Thee"

If you dont who said these...
These were the words of Lord Krishna and these are taken from Bagavad Gita(Song of the Lord)

Never say again that Jesus is the only way to God and all that rubbish, without knowing anything about other beliefs.
