I had a disturbing dream where I was sent into the future and i was on a bus, travelling across country. As I was going over a bridge, someone opened fire on the bus with an automatic weapon and everyone was ripped apart from the bullets.

This dream disturbed me for days, until the day I was supposed to start Job Corps (9/11/2001) I woke up to the terrorist attacks on the news, and then rode the last Greyhound Bus in Oregon, before they shut down the busses due to the terrorist attacks.

Was this a premonition? This dream has disturbed me for years. And every year 9/11 comes around, I am haunted by the dream and how it so closely related with what happened in my life that day.

Well, I think you were worried about your new job, had a bad dream, and then it co-incided with this horrible event.

If it makes you feel kind of special to have a premonition, then ignore what I just said. But if it really disturbs you, remember -- even if it was a premonition, there's no way you could have interpreted that to mean "planes will crash into the World Trade Center." There's no way you could have warned everyone. It's just an odd co-incidence.

I have an aunt who was in a black depression just before 9/11, and she thinks it was a signal that the attacks were going to happen. As she is feeling fine now, I guess it's OK to think that. But I hope she doesn't feel that every time she gets depressed, the world is going to take a turn for the worse. That would be . . . depressing.

I don't think it was a premonition about 9/11, I think it more likely that you were getting ready to travel into new and unknown territory in your life, and working out fears about it... Crossing a bridge would be a symbol for leaving one part of your life, and entering a new part of your life. I am also wondering if this was the first time you left the "protection" of home, to go away into the "real world", and perhaps felt vulnerable ?

Your not alone. Millions of other people experienced and dreamt what seems likely to happen in the future. Dreams are mostly what seems to go on in your past. Or something that interests you or saw. For e.g. I ate an apple and drove a car. In a dream, you might see a car eating and driving an apple. We people do not know the reason and cause if you DID dream the future and it DID happen. Like you. Either that, or your watching too many action-packed movies, or it was a coincidence.

But always remember, you not alone...

you might think this is crazy but i have had recurring dreams since i was a child (born in 83) about middle eastern men with turbans attacking cities with machine guns and bombs. this goes back to before i even knew what radical terrorisit types looked like. strange huh? i think you had a premonition and as much as i dont believe in the base of the bible there are some points that speak of people having dreams and premonitions about the future.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see a drawbridge in your dream, represents protection. You may feel that some relationship or situation is too invasive. It may also mean that you are drawing the line and creating boundaries.

These dreams are not to cause us to change events but to let us know that there is more to life than what meets the eye. Just let this make your faith stronger and don't let it affect you. It is the horrible events that are haunting you and not your dream.

Nah, not anymore than when I was on a plane on 9/4/01 and thought to myself how easy it would be to kick in the cockpit door.
