is it necessary for all faiths to exist .and if some are to perish who decides which they will be to make earth a better place to live?i know religion is a force to be reckoned with and i have seen so many opposing it fall and crumble.still how can we stop this religious communal violence.what role would gods be playing (if they exist ) if something like this is to happen.

sxanthop,mattapan26 sorry to be reactive towards your answers but its in the 20th century that some myth about religion really got shattered.if god was so wise why did he tell his followers that earth is the center of this world and earth is flat oh common and the vatican was not ready to accept this isnt it? they thought sun revolves round the earth .forget vatican the hindoo religion belives the sun god has a charriot and the seven days or the seven horses that drives him every day oh come on if god gave us intelligence why were we wrongly informed.why is trignometery still difficult to understand .moon is considered holy in islam but what the hell americans have stepped on the moon so now where does moon stand in islam.and sxanthop,mattapan26 who are you to decide that every thing that is good has been done by god and all the bad things are the devils or satans creations .first of all let me ask you do devil really exists.and it has been so many years that humanbeings have existed

Funny ive never seen a dog or cat praying to their god, i reckon other species are too smart to fall for the crap that can be so easily made up. I think most if not all war and terrorism will stop people would get along because their not divided by their belifes, and people wouldn't be as angery from everyone trying to convert them.

People would be much happier cause they're living their lives for themselves.

1. God endowed man with the wisdom to perceive the universe as God's work and not just an environment in which to hunt and avoid being prey.
2. In the absence of a belief in God, there would be no external determination of right and wrong. The nominally atheistic communist and fascist societies of the 20th century showed us how great that would be.

it's presumptuous to say the least in assuming that we are just ourselves and nothing more. There is merit in seeking peace and believe me - I desire nothing more than the end to the religious bickering and bantering back and forth. Why is everyone so caught up on this sin and THAT Sin. It just makes me mad that we're all here on YA splitting hairs and trying to prove ourselves right. Didn't anyone ever point out to you that living a life "sin" free (however one defines sin) is COMPLETELY meaningless without love. And in its highest definition perfection is not even remotely attainable. So are we all doomed??? NOOOOO. All you have to do is admit your that you fall and here's the kicker - ACCEPT GOD'S FORGIVENESS. I mean, you'd think he was asking you to pull out your teeth with dental floss one at a time. The reason I am passionate about this answer I'm giving is bc/ I see the good intentions to your question. I am happy to let you live your life the way you see fit bc/ that is your choice, but I will tell you one thing that I hope you will be able to grasp - God is willing and able and waiting whether you believe He's there or not and on that note I am willing and able to agree to disagree as long as we are both allowed to go on with out lives as we see fit.

There are three types of persons: 1) Theists - those who believe in God 2) Atheists - those who do not believe in God and 3) Agnostics - those who neither believe nor disbelieve in God. Loosely speaking, both 2) and 3) types are clubbed as atheists. I am of the type 3) because as a scientist, I will look for a proof to believe in something. If I find no proof of God, I do not believe in God and for me to disbelieve in God, I need the proof that God does not exist. This leaves me in a state of indecision. Now, to answer your question, if some atheist insisted on a theist not to believe in God, it does not mean that all atheists are like that. I have also come across theists who insist that I believe in God, but I cannot conclude that all theists are like that. As a scientist, we do not conclude anything with a single experimental result. The scientific theory has to undergo multiple repititive tests for confirmation. Recently, a science laboratory found speed greater than light, but they are expecting other labs to confirm their result before coming to any conclusion. Edit: My own philosophy of life is that everyone of us lives in his own world of belief and satisfaction and one should allow others to live in their world of enjoyment as long as their activities are not harmful to the society. One should not try to convince the other about his belief unless the other is interested in listening to the logic and making efforts to understand the same. If someone is rigid in his belief, there is no point in arguing with that person and there is no need also to do that.

Dude. You obviously need to EXPAND beyond the Abrahamic faiths if you believe this. Have you ever seriously considered researching into different pagan religions, or Taoism, Shinto, etc?

Just because I belive in Dionysos and Hestia doesn't mean I don't believe in my self. I don't crave for Heaven. And anyone who tries to say I am an evil person can go **** themselves.
