Why don't Atheists ever boycott money because of "In God We Trust"? I guess they have a price on their beliefs...

I don't see how the fact that "One Nation Under God" being added in 1951 has to do with anything.

I just think that it's hypcritical to not say words in the Pledge because they go against your (lack of) religion, yet have no problem using currency with similar words printed on it.

i guess they have all that 'old money' they're using...did you know that they are the only ones who know that 'in God we trust' and 'under God' was added in the 50's? that's right, we Christians don't know that, which is probably why they keep telling us about it...not sure WHAT point they're trying to make...

LOL, that is kind of funny. under God was actually added later as a response to communism which did not support religion.

If you dont believe in God just dont say under God when you say the pledge. It just isnt that big of a deal. If you really were an atheist why do you care. It would be like saying under the unicorn. You would laugh it off and not really take it so personally and as an offensive against your whole way of life. I am a christian but my religion doesnt use the cross as a religious symbol. I dont freak out when I see crosses on gvt buildings.

I don't boycott The Pledge... I just don't repeat that portion of it. The "Under God" was added in the Eisenhower administration and is not original to The Pledge anyways. I say it as it was originally intended.

As for money... who uses that now? When I travel I use travelers checks and/or my debit card which is what I use in my everyday daily life. Last I checked.. my debit card doesn't mention any deity on it. It is extremely rare that I handle any cash.

I'm atheist, and I have never boycotted the Pledge of Allegiance. I also don't care if our US currency has "in god we trust" on it.

Did you know "god" wasn't added to our money or the pledge until the 50's?

WOW! You really got us there! We...use money! I have no rebuttal! Why don't you boycott clothes? They're most likely made by destitute third-worlders that suffer more than you could ever know every day of their life. I doubt Jesus would want you to reap the "fruits" of their labor.

In which god? Maybe you should boycott the Constitution since God isn't mentioned in it.

Ummm... what?

Liberals want "under god" and "in god we trust" to be removed.

You know because of "under god"... USA has become the enemy of major muslim nations.

"under god" is responsible for 9/11.
