I am totally out in the open. Every day to school as well (I'm a teacher) I wear my big Spiral Goddess pendant around my neck on a long leather strap, and I often wear a small silver pentacle around my neck too. I hug trees openly, I have a "Goddess Bless" bumper sticker on my hybrid Camry, I have 2 canvas bags for my groceries that have BIG pentacles on them, I have a 10 foot by 7 foot Triple Goddess painted in my backyard, and I teach everyone who asks about what you can recycle, about the new fluorescent light bulbs and how much energy they save, and if someone litters in front of me, I immediately pick it up and look at them sorrowfully, which usually does the trick!!!!! Guilt them into stopping with the throwing garbage on the ground and polluting our world!

I have cast circles in groves of trees where people could see me if they cared to look. I am fortunate. In the Bay Area, pagans abound, and no one thinks twice. Just go to Berkeley, pagans are probably the majority population.

Bright Blessings,

I'm not a Pagan but same with the Pagan beliefs, I as a solitary Wiccan doesn't share what I believed in with people with narrow-minded... For when I tell them that I am a Wiccan or witch they treated me as the wicked witch most on fairy tales.. And it really hurts... They judged me already without hearing my side first...

So, I keep it as a secret... However, I am open here in Yahoo answers for there are lot of Pagans, Wiccans here who shares same beliefs and open-minded...

In my place, I'm the only Wiccan (aside from a friend who is also a beginner)...

Blessed Be!

Yes and no.
To the run of the mill person? Not exactly. But it's more because it's not going to come up in conversation. "Hi I'm R's mom. Nice to meet you. Play date? Sure!" That's about it. I wear a hammer necklace, but most people outside of paganism and hell a lot of people in it, have no idea what it is. They just think it's a pretty peice.
If someone asks me, on the rare occasion it comes up, I tell them "I'm Asatru". If they are interested they ask more, if they aren't they don't. *shrug*
Now with my actual "life", I am very open about it. But all my friends are either pagan, or REALLY open minded Christians who aren't really Christian if that makes any sense. LOL They are more agnostic then anything else. They are interested in most everything in my faith and think it's pretty cool. They are always invited to anything that's "open" to outsiders and sometimes they take up the offer. They are aware of my holidays, wish my Happy what ever, ask me what I'm doing. It's a part of my life and they totally respect that. So in that sense, yes I am very open about it.

It really depends on the person that is around. There are some that I will hide it from because they are just trouble makers. If I know the person is open then I don't hide my beliefs.

No absolute not..Here Those of us who are wiccan or pagan don't tell any one. Our property would be stolen or vandalized and we could suffer physcial harm. This is a dangerous place to be of another religious belief.

I dont hide my beliefs but I also do not broadcast them. I am not ashamed to but I have sworn to harm none and to tell certain members of my family would cause tham great distress .So for the sake of harmony I keep it close.Hopefully some day people will evolve enough to make such ommissions uneccasery But we aint there yet Blessings to you and yours. Wide open. I'm pagan and I'm proud.. If the Jesus freaks can spew their idiotic rhetoric on street corners, then I fell I have the right to shout out the truth. THERE IS NO GOD. ORGANIZED RELIGION IS A MONEY MAKING BUSINESS.

Well, I don't run around telling everyone, but if it comes up I am open about it. Everyone who knows me knows I am a Pagan.

I don't hide them, but I don't really go running around the place shouting "I'm heathen!"
If anybody asks, I tell. I've been given dirty looks because of the pendant around my neck or my car stickers. I've been thrown insults at. I've been stopped on the street and told I was going to hell.
Try living 20m away from a HUGE catholic church. They have mass twice every day and three times on sundays. The bloody bells NEVER shut up.
(i guess one of these days I'll get myself the "your god was nailed to the cross, mine carries a hammer" sticker...)
So I guess it's quite open.
