At a press briefing after Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's health care rollout Monday, senior policy advisers said the New York senator's plan does not currently include any details on whether illegal immigrants will be covered.

Senior policy adviser Laurie Rubiner–while acknowledging that undocumented immigrants are a "huge issue" in this country–said, "That's one we're going to have to think through a little bit."

"We have not dealt with every single detail with this plan," Rubiner continued.

When asked if it would be safe to assume that the Democratic frontrunner, at this point, has no position on coverage for illegal immigrants advisers answered "yes" and said the plan does not "at this point" deal with that issue.

If it isn't written specifically that illegals are excluded she is including them.

Grouch - This is a matter of insurance coverage not weather a person will receive medical care or not. No one is suggesting that anyone will be denied all medical care completely we are just discussing who is going to pay for what.

Even the hard liners on this issue haven't suggested denying illegals life saving treatments in our hospitals. ERs can't turn ANYONE away that is severely injured and the only time someone in bad shape is moved from one hospital to another is because the hospital doesn't have room or isn't properly equipped for the emergency. Even then the injured person is transported in an ambulance or helicopter.

The worst that anyone says about this kind of situation is that the person should be deported once they are well enough to be released.

You would have to include all people. Regardless of their status. What would you do for instance if a tourist became ill, was hit by a car, what have you? Just put them out on the street? Should doctors have to determine under what circumstances someone happened to come into an emergency room? Besides, I believe it is against a doctors ethics to deny help to someone who needs it. This divisive topic shouldn't interfere with developing a comprehensive health care system in our country.

As a working taxpaying citizen of this country I say emphatically NO to providing health insurance coverage paid out of our tax dollars to people here illegally.

I am all for spending more money to have them deported back to their country of origin however.

I think illegal immigrants should receive full health coverage because that's the humane thing to do. Once they're healthy, they should be permanently deported and never allowed to return. If they do return, they should be jailed and/or sent to labor camps.
