First of all, make sure you can begin exercizing at that pace by visiting your physician and asking about it. I would suggest a stress test at least, to make sure your heart is strong enough to withstand jogging that far. Before I can estimate how much weight you can expect to lose, I have to know your age, height, daily calorie intake, level of activity on a daily basis and how you answer the heart disease indicator questions: Do you smoke? If so, quit right now. Do you have high blood pressure? What is your total Cholesterol? HDL, LDL and Triglycerides? Do you have Diabetes? If yes, are you insulin dependent? So, you see there is a lot more to this question. I wish you luck, but please be careful and don't overwork your heart.

For one don't jog, walk briskly, as a start.
You could lose a lot of weight just by watching your portions and your diet. Another helpful thing is to cut out sugar. Splenda is a good substitute (my mom & partner both like it best - diabetics) and can be switched out spoon/spoon. If fact I use less, and I'm okay with sugar.
Jogging, could be damaging as a starting point, you don't want to hurt your knees or joints with the impact.
Try diet, walking, biking and then go to a gym.

A man of that weight may damage his health if he dosn't diet FIRST, as you will almost certainly fill up with a sugary drink through fluid loss (sweating) & nullify all the hard work! Have you sought advice from your doctor ? as he (or she ) may recommend you seeing a dietitian to help you attain your goal weight..safely...before you go jogging..good luck !.

wait a minute bro.
it's easier said than done.
at ur weight, it will be tough to jog so much.
walking 6 miles, weight lifting would be plenty to lose a couple of pounds a week.
remember, have to avoid refined carbs, sugar, high fructose corn syrup.
see that ur properly hydrated and take sips of water.

my thoughts are that jogging less distance, more often is more likely to get results. i am guessing that this makes you over 124kg? so i would go for the smaller distance more often. try doing 1.5 - 2 miles every day. oh is this ok w your dr? no heart or lung conditions? if so you should try walking it first.

weight loss is mainly dependent on the diet, exercise really only expedites the process. slight changes in the diet will result in slight changes to the body composition. the more whole foods in your diet the faster you will see results. the human body is not designed to ingest chemicals on a daily basis. the less processed foods in your diet the healthier you will be.

It depends on how many calories you are taking in and how fast you are jogging.
